I have had the same batteries in my light for a while now and was wondering how long I have once I see the batteries start to fade? There are times I will walk home and can get by fine with almost no light but once I get to the last mile and a half I can't see squat without a moon. If I have my pack I have spares, but should I start carrying them in my jacket?

About to pick up an Ultimate and was wondering if anybody has any pros versus cons on the Ultimate versus the normal one. Only thing I can think of is the differnces in brightnesses, but once I get to the brightest I want the brightest anyway. That might be a moot point once I reread the specs on it anyway.

Also anyone have some suggestions for comparable lights? Size is pretty important sine I do carry it all the time

In less extreme conditions I can wear some of them without issues. As I sit here itching and scratching my wrist, I began thinking of the classic pocket watch.

What pocket watches do the forum'ites use or consider for purchase? I'm looking for either a durable quartz model with a large face and hands that can be read in the dark or a modern digital version. I'm mostly interested in a good digital models with classic functions like an alarm clock, multiple timezones, atomic clock synch ... though a good analog model would get my attention too. Ideally I'm looking for a pricepoint of ~$100 but, $200~$300 is possible for the "right" pocket watch.

TIA,

Greetings all.

It's been a few years since I last posted here. Never lost my interest in knives, just lost my interest in the internet. But I bought a new toy yesterday and thought this would be a good place to show it off.

It's a brand new Maverick 88 and I couldn't say no to it. I haven't gotten to put any rounds through it yet, but I did take the pistol grip off in favor of the standard stock. But that's where I'd like some advice or suggestions. I'm not a big guy and the stock is pretty good, but just a little too long to feel completely comfortable. I know there are a lot of pistol grip, adjustable stock options out there. What's the best for this gun? I'd like to keep it under $150 and still get some recoil reduction.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Quick background
I do a lot of wood work and 1 of my specialties was wooden rings. A dear and close friend of mine, ex GF, came to me about an hour ago asking me personally to make a set of wedding bands for her and her fiance! When we were together i would make them for here from time to time, especially when we would go camping..... ya sappy i know

her only request is that they have some interweaving design and the rings have a shadowing images, like one has a key in the weaving and the other has an opening for the key to into, but i has to be subtle

PLEASE NEED IDEAS

I've been looking to find something to wear on hikes and fishing trips instead of my Seiko Arctura Kinetic. Nothing wrong with it really but my main concern is that I can't see the time in the dark unless the watch was in someplace bright previously. So for my outdoors watch I would like the following:

Must have:
- Backlit digital or tritium hands; either way must be clearly visible in the dark
- Metal strap with a reliable clasp
- Crystal, scratch-proof face
- Waterproof
- Self powered; solar or mechanically powered - no fiddling around with batteries

I was looking at the Casio Protrek PAG240T-7 and it seems to fit the bill very well but I wanted to see some other options before making a decision. I don't necessarily need all the bells and whistles on the Protrek (compass, barometer, altimeter etc.); those are more in the "nice to have but not absolutely necessary" category.

Ideally I don't really want to pay more than $200 but I can stretch my budget for the right watch.

Thanks in advance guys! :)

So, Invicta guys, help me out. I'm not a diver as of yet so I would like a trimmer and slimmer watch than their full dive watches, and I like the idea of automatic moments but have only experience with battery operated watches.
