Non Hydraulic presses
Does anyone know of any plans available for theses presses?
I'm thinking along the lines of a simple heavy rotating flywheel that works similar to a power hammer, but where the top die would have no springs or shocks. The flywheel would turn and move a concentric shaft up and down with say a 1/8 " throw. The bottom die could be moved up and down with a flypress type screw. You could just insert the billet, spin the screw up and walk the billet. Does this make sense? |
I'd say if you happened to have the billet to cold something is going to brake
that's the short of it...other things :( can happen also |
I don't know about plans, but there are such things as fly presses that work as you describe (I think). Here's some examples: http://www.oldworldanvils.com/flypresses/index.html
