Yes. You remove a lot of weight. When I get good at it there will only be a sliver of steel at the back side.

Man, I'm liking the Kepharts. I'll have to decide between it and the Bushfinger when the time comes.

Sorry rmdmooch, but payment has already been sent for both of the knives I purchased today. I feel you though...the Doublemint is SUPER slick IMO. I have a Doublemint Bushfinger and now this Doublemint Hikingbuddy on the way to me and plan to gift them to my wife. She is NOT a knife person: I am hoping the sheer beauty, comfort and usability of Fiddleback's knives will change her mind, but if it doesn't and I ever need to get rid of those blades I will keep you in mind for the Hikingbuddy

What you REALLY need is at least one of each

I took one look and was sold. Beautiful scales. I noticed the sabre grind is pretty deep too. I was shocked I got it, getting to the party so late. I just doesn't feel right if I don't have some of your "functional art" on it's way to me up here...

ps: if I didn't have one already I would be all over that Hunter as well. That is a beautiful knife right there. and yes, pic shows.

You want me to get some of that SWEET Red Oak stabalized and dyed for your set of 3 HB's?

That would be really, really gorgeous! I have an Amish made Quartersawn Brown Maple dining table that is stained, and the visible depth of the grain is astounding. I think that in some cases it can actually help to reveal the characteristics of the grain.

I'm sure the price will be fair Tanks Andy!

EDIT: Phew...I was scrambling when I posted the I'll take it comments. Having a very busy day here. I just wanted to take a minute to say WOW, what a batch. That Hunter is really something special...I'm holding out for one of those with a full height convex grind but MAN...I was tempted with this one. I also really like the Bushfingers this week: the one with quartersawn White Oak and the high convex grind would be my choice (that is a choice cut of some beautiful, elegant wood IMO) but I really like the "Butterscotch" configuration as well.

Furthermore, sorry if you feel like you got sharked MedicWrightDR: I have been waiting for one of these EDKs to come up in a handle config I like and I really like the Tuxedo configuration. Fiddleback's knives have a general price and then are sometimes priced up a bit depending on materials and features etc, so once you've been browsing the threads for a while you'll pretty much know the prices IME. I had to scoop that EDK otherwise I would have been kicking myself later! How cool is Andy though to offer to make one up just for you? I hope you get the knife you're looking for, MedicWrightDR!
Pveiled its all good, Im new to the forum and new to FF's. I do not have any hard feelings at all. I am glad you got your, super sexy, EDK. As soon as I saw your post my gut fell, lol. Should have known better not to sit and wait on a price. Its not like it would have made a difference either way. As for Andy making me one, I couldnt be more excited. His ethics and customer service are outstanding.
