I recieved a CRK Umnumzaan over 2 months ago from my girlfriend as a 4 year anniversary gift. I put a crazy sharp edge on my 551(best edge iv ever done myself), and put it away. My CRK Is really nasty and dirty and needs a good cleaning. Its my daily user and i work in an auto shop so you can imagine how nasty it gets. So heading out to the bar tonight i grabbed the 551 since its super clean and has an awesome fresh edge on it. Now im sitting at the bar over a couple brews waiting for a couole friends to show up, and im falling in love all over again. This 551 is awesome. Time for a new custom scale or something cause this thing will see more pocket time for sure.

Do you own any other ZTs? Why the Um over another ZT? Going to get more ZTs now?
Is there anything specific that appeals to you with the 551 or just all of it, the Elmax and the great edge it takes,
the beefiness and the way it feels like a durable serious tool that is up for any sort of hard use; all of it as a package?

I just got a 0550BLK, my first of the Hinderer/ZT. I like it way more than I thought I would. Im still in the crush phase, just fondling her a bit, but I think it will turn into more than that.

The 550/551 has always done it for me. Iv had a 560 and a 350. Iv played with a few 301s. I cant explain it and im sure alot of you guys know what i mean. The umnumzaan is an awesom knife, its built great and carries even better. I didnt choose it over the 551, but i had the chance to get a knew knife and iv had my eye on an Umnumzaan for a while. And, in my mind my best knife i have is the most expensive one i own. I know thats wrong and carrying the zt 551 proved that tonight.
