    Approximate age of navaja?

    Apologies for the angled pics,they are the only ones i have for now.Just wondering how old this one is and if anyone recognises the mark.I'm hoping to find out which region of Spain it was made.Also,if it's possible to tell from these pics,are the inserts shell and bone or even ivory?

    The inserts look to me like bone and tortoiseshell. Hard to tell for sure without closer shots.

    Actually, the "tortoiseshell" is really spotted horn. Pale cow horn with brown paint on both surfaces. The color in tortoise goes all the way through.

    Yes, made in France. Probably 19th century, maybe early 20th.
