    From the bushman:

SATURDAY OCT 27th, 0830 hours, meet at TIM HORTONS at 1384 MAIN ST, North Van. Map link

destination is the ASHLU MINE, via Squamish Valley road and then onto an offroad trunkline. Road is degraded and in rough shape, due to last winter and the heavy rains we just had....., 2WD accessible BUT EXPECT the worst.....bring spare gas, oil, water, tools, ropes, etc. we MAY have to all pile into a couple of the 4x4s if needed. Bring lunch, woods gear, etc, and knives for trade or selling.

there is Sodium Cyanide scattered around the mine buildings, in the buildings, and on the tailings. DO NOT TOUCH OR BREATH, death is quick upon contact, or ingestion. BE very aware of what you touch, best to just take photos.

there may be an issue with access to the mine area......it may be gated and under guard by the watchman....however in my recent discussions with the Ministry Of Mines.....there is currently no activity nor lease on the land.......

That'd definitely be better for me if others can swing it.

Alright, lets go with the 3rd then.

Spyderchop, if you need a ride I'm sure somebody can take you either from poco, or tims.

Hey man I live in Poco(coquitlam actually), just at the north end of shaughnessy, we could carpool from here if you want. Or north van.

I can really only drive one other person, so depending on who else is coming it may be better to take other vehicles. I can drive or throw in some gas money of I end up in someone else's vehicle, I guess we'll just see how it plays out.

Unfortunately, it's not good for me this time.

    trip details:

aiming for Sat Nov 3, meet at Timmies in North Van, just off Main St MAP at 0830 hours. Bushy is picking Munky88 up. Leave at 0900 hours. Its 45 minutes to Squamish, plus about 35 - 45 minutes after to reach the Mine. Hopefully we can everyone a seat........Bushy's truck is full, it only holds driver and passenger. Access road is 2WD, STEEP and slippery due to rain in some parts, potholes etc. 4x4's can drive right up to the Mine, 2WD's cannot unless its bone dry. Parking for 2WD just below the Mine, holds 3 vehicles. About 15 minutes to walk in.

drive up the dirt access road as far as we can, then walk in. (short walk about 15 minutes). Explore the main processing building, then check out the mine (walk to the main adit is about 15 minutes).
