    JACKBLACK....fantastic old pics!!.....you can see in the pic i have posted (sign in background)..this is the very same piece of coast that i fished with my son..MAYOR island is directly off the coast where we launch our boat...still plenty of fish there too..... FES

    I admire the lodge immensely. Fantastic that you used recycled and heritage stuff to construct it.
    I was a bit worried that I was gonna see a Hobbit or something walking across the fields.

    I can only repeat what the others have said Fes, you are indeed a rich and blessed man to be able to go to such a place in nature and enjoy. That is a beautiful spot, and the lodge, man, what a way to getaway!

    A great read and good pics. Thanks for posting. NZ is a beautiful place.
    I can imagine you sneaking up on a big ole gobbler with a board and whack it off a fence - priceless!
    I have always wanted to go to NZ to hunt - especially hogs.

    Hoggs..we call them swine,and love to hunt them..heres a pic from our local fundraiser for our primary school..red boar and left and right of it were ours...we won a 308 for average weight...dogs and knives.. FES
