Got kicked out of a hardware store for wearing it.
Absolutely nothing! Sadly I have no Becker's. Some day I will own the King or a Machax. Until then, I'll keep plugging along with my Condor Kumunga. It's just as good as a BK-9, right?
Made some new pants for the 2.
This is version 2.0 the first sheath was ugly.
I tried drilling the holes with a hand drill. Big mistake. This time, I used my drill press with much better results. I still need practice, but it's getting better!
It's got a Double welt along the spine, single along the blade. Now just gotta get it to stretch a little it's more snug than I need it to be!
I gave the King a highly appropriate name, fitting a most recent accomplishment. Sicarius Dracorum.
Big day for my Beckers.
I remember reading in the tinkering forum that if you apply diamond paste on a hard surface, like glass or even wood it makes a great strop. Well I don't have any diamond paste but I do have some white jewelers rouge. I put some on a paint stiring stick with a little WD-40 to help it brake down and thin it out some. WOW holy sharp! just strop like you would on leather, nice and light as this is the final step. I'd like to try a fine diamond paste and see how that works. Every Becker I own, and some others got touched up.
Then I cold blued the flats on my King, sanded on the grind lines some then stropped it and lightly oiled it.
Had to fix some of the privacy fence and some brush needed to be cleared out so I could move around the back side. Since it was tight quarters I figured the Machax was just the tool. After the fence was done it was beer:30 and I had to wipe the pine pitch off the blade. Any how, when I was wiping down the edge it cut thru the rag and Bit into my trigger finger! Why is it that cuts made with a sharp edge bleed so much?
no pics of the wound. Its merely a flesh wound.
Just toted the 2 around the house today...
As we were cooking dinner, the wife mentions that our kitchen knives sucked... So, I casually mention that Kifecenter had a sale... After a few minutes of convincing, we've got a set of Becker kitchen knives on the way!
Not today but Friday, I tended a campfire and kept it burning bright at a faculty social event for the school where my wife works. I also started carving a fork and spoon while sitting by the fire.
This is what I've got so far. It's all been done with my 9 (with the exception of the slots in the for, I used a foldable saw for that) and I still have more to take off with my 9 before I move down to my 14.
Used the Machax to process some camp fire wood. First time I've gotten to use it in a while.
Stripped the BK2, and got a new Kydex sheath for the BK9.
Visited going gear and fondled the rest if the models...! An 11 is in my future for sure.
Also picked up a new ferro rod. The coughlans one I have just doesn't work well for me. Hopefully this one will.
Arts and crafts day today. Used my 14 to remove the labels off some milk cartons and cut holes in the back for the candles for our "jack o' lanterns"; then my daughter decorated them.
