Great contest! I'm a long time lurker and admirer of your blades. I typically carry Busses when I'm hiking or camping, but your blades are very high on my "must have" list, if I can score one!

As for the naming of the blade:

The Latinized version of my BF moniker is a possibility: "Ajax"; he is the exemplar stoic-type warrior, unbreakable and ready for anything... just like the looks of that blade! Another name that cam to mind, from the Latin, "Sicarius" (which translates as dagger-man); there is a modern (and nasty) spider that goes by that name, but the ancient derivation is more like a lone survivor/ highwayman type guy... and since societies feared these types, the word came to be synonymous with assassin, killer, etc. There is a Hebrew version associated with he Zealots-- "Sicarii". Any of which sounds classical, somewhat dangerous, and is relatively easy to pronounce/ say. I think the names strike a good balance between ancient blade lore and modern appeal, with ease of speech.

The survival blade seems pretty bada$$, but at the same time totally utilitarian... not to big for belt carry and big enough to do camp stuff and use as a weapon if necessary. It looks like a simple, functional, no no-nonsense and, in my eyes, a beautiful knife.

First thing I thought when I saw it was "that is a brute of a knife!" So I say "Brutus"

Somebody already suggested ex-wife and I concur.

"wingman" cause he always has your back and will take one for the team.

"Duterte" cause he gets shit done, he brings chaos to create order.

"Saul" (as in you'd better call....)

    All I got right now.

    I'd call it the Arnold.

    1. For Lorien

    2. Looks like something Arnold Schwarzenegger would use in his movies and it's big and strong like he is

Smilodon - or saber tooth cat

It's the first thing I thought of after seeing it! Great looking blade guys!

    Fenris wolf (Norse)
Also reminds me of a wolf. Wolves live in the woods. So does this blade it looks like.

Actaeon, god of the wilderness, wild animals, the hunt, and male animals

Oxylus(ox), god of forests & mountains

First, there are A LOT of really great ideas here.
Second, if Nathan and Lorien want a new name then they should get one! With that said, what's wrong with CPK survival knife?

I like it because like the names of the other knives in the CPK family it describes what the knife is for and is nice and concise.

CPK EDC-a knife perfect to carry everyday
CPK field knife-a knife to use out in the field to prep food and fire and work with wood
CPK light chopper-a chopper that's, well, light
    CPK fighter-a fighting knife
Potato knife-I actually don't know the story behind this one, but I can guess

The CPK XTRM Spartan Tickler or CPK S.E.R.E.-lore or CPK Chuck Norris seem to clash with the rest of the past models. But, maybe the whole point is to shake things up.

Anyways, this is a really fun thread and a neat idea to put some ownership in the hands of forumers. If the desired outcome is to find a cool acronym or unique name, I'm sure it will be found in this thread!

I'd second the already mentioned: expedition, wilderness, camp and especially trailblazer.

My attempt at originality would be: CPK work horse.
EDIT: took too long typing... not that original anymore
