This is a bare jack knife with beveled and grooved bolsters. Very nice stag covers, ATS-34 was his preferred steel. Blade shows no sharpening or use. Does have a tiny bit of side to side when pressed from the tip. A quality piece from an early maker. Knife is 3 5/8" closed, blade is 2 7/8" and cutting edge is 2 5/8".
A member of the South Carolina Association of Knife Makers, Montjoy was a full-time maker who sold his first knife in 1982. He made knives by the stock removal method and built folders, including slip joints, locking liners and interframes, and also hunters, boot knives, fighters and some art knives. ATS-34, Knifemaker Claude Montjoy of Clinton, South Carolina, passed away Sept. 23, 2011. He was 74. Asking $380 TYD First I'll take it posted here.
Please look at John’s photos for overall condition and PM me if you have any questions. Will ship by PRIORITY MAIL to U.S.ADDRESSES ONLY.
Thanks for looking, Charles
