    Jeff . . .

I currently have a 7 and am gonna get my hands on a 9 ASAP but have a couple of questions.

    NON_KNIFE CONTENT:
What, if any, parasitic problems have you run into in situations like this? I.E. washing and eating a monkey with river water. Most of the folks here in Central America have parasites GALORE! I have not suffered any yet but probably will soon once I began spending more time in remote areas.

    KNIFE CONTENT:
How do you find the locals to react to the quality of the knives you bring?

    Thanks Jeff!

Jason, except for alligator, everything we eat down there is well cooked. So far no parasitic problems even though Patricia did get Giardia after one trip - water was the suspect there though. The alligator we eat is sometimes eaten raw as a ceviche. The meat is chunked up and lemon juice put over the top. Excellent dish. I realize that it could potentially cause problems but we have eaten it on numerous occasions without any problems. Anyway it's not anything that Flagil won't cure Our med kits have just about everything needed to cure most problems such as this, from Cipro to Flagil to Epi.

    To your other question:

The guys that used the BK9 down there loved it. Even though they live on cheap machetes it always impresses them with the sharpness of some of our knives. I have a LOT of good things to say about the knives we used there but would rather hold the information for future publication. I hope everyone understands.

Will, to make your point clear. Yes, we are "competition" for Camillus however like you, Wallace, Ethan, Mike, Patricia, and I have discussed on numerous occasions we don't look at it that way. If something works, regardless of the manufacturer, then we're going to tell it like it is. I was highly impressed with the BK9. In fact it's a better chopper than our RTAK, but even with me saying that it will not hurt the sale of RTAKs because most folks who buy a BK9 will probably buy an RTAK also. Even if they don't, no big deal. I want people to buy what they feel is right for them and what works for what they do, nothing more. I think it's very good for this industry to have "friendly competition" among honorable people. Too much cut throat business in this whole industry and it doesn't have to be that way. I don't have to run down Camillus to increase Ontario sales, and the reverse is true. Hell, I enjoyed my time sitting in the Camillus booth with your dad trying to sell a Becker Patrol Machete even though I had an Ontario badge on. As long as there are honorable folks in this game then it makes it all worth it to me. I'll continue to use Becker, Camillus and Ontario products as long as I'm alive. If someone tells me it has to be one or the other...oh well, they can kiss my.....

    Jeff,
Thanks for the quick reply! The Ceviche here is great and is a great way to eat lots of stuff! Pretty tasty too!
As for the knives . . . everyone here too is impressed with a non-machete type knife . . . or a good machete! Some of them I have to work hard to get home without them becoming "gifts"!!

    Post Got It....

    Swede79,
I recieved your email. I'm sorry that you feel that way, but there is nothing I can do about that. I don't have the ability to remove your account, as you requested. I have fowarded the email to Kevin Schlosberg, the owner and administator of this site. If you want him to remove you, I guess he can, so I recommend taking it up with him.

Once again, this is your decision. You are still welcome here on the CAMILLUS forum. If you chose to leave, its your call.

    P.E.T.A is already watching.
Are we talking about the same PETA ie: People for the Eating of Tasty Animals?

I was thinkin' up all kinds of clever things to say but what the hell, I just might as well say it plainly: the attack on Jeff was just plain ludicrous and that's putting it as mildly as I can. Just so long as Jeff doesn't start making fun of college professors... Any guy who doesn't like to eat babes is weird anyway.

I know you guys are just funnin' so I'm not going to be offended by your callous, hurtful remarks. I KNOW given the right circumstances you guys would cook me and EAT ME, probably going after the oysters first.

Damn now I not only need money for some folders, I also want to get the BK7 and 9...
As for the content about Mr. Randall's humor, it wasn't that big of a deal. Honestly, swede79, did you believe that was a baby? or did you find that Jeff joked about it that offensive?
PC drives me nuts. It was a lighthearted joke and was intended that way. If you cannot tell a joke from fact, then maybe you should find some information on netiquette. What Jeff said was within bounds of the netiquette and shall be interpreted as a joke anyways.
Now look at what you've done, I'm ranting about this....
    Rant mode off.
As I was saying, I really need to get a PT job for the Beckers

Hey guys, I appreciate the support but it's all water under the bridge. No sense beating a dead baby in the ground...uh I mean a dead horse

My apologies, I had to say that. I couldn't resist.

Anyway, we moved all the verbal attacks, sick jokes, nasty language, and ranting over to our forum, where Hoodoo is leading the pack as far as sick jokes go. I've tried to stop this but he's out of control. He's taken over the admin functions of the forum and I can't ban him

BTW: All the enlcosed in this post implies it's a joke

As usual, Jeff is just plain full of it. I'm the only normal person over there. Obviously Jeff has no sense of objectivity. Did y'all know he was banned from the Ayn Rand Society for blatant altruism? What a sicko!
