Craftmanship and time will vary with each maker (could be anywhere from days to weeks to years). A good rule of thumb is to try to see as many as you can then sit down and talk with a maker about what you are looking for Try to match the type of knife that you are looking for with the style and strengths of a maker. Once you are comfortable and you feel the maker is comfortable odds are very high you will be happy with your new knife and maybe even your new friend.
