    Hello all,

Though there were some problems with quality control, a good, straight Campolin picklock is very nearly indistiguishable from the antiques. Franks 11" knives are as good as they get, using the thinner, modern, components. The Campolins use much thicker steel parts, old style button assemblies, etc. They are really a bargain.

I like the blonde one, very pretty. All of the 15 and 18 inch ones are made by Campolin.

    Cool A.G.A. Campolin 13" Picklock

Well I bought one the only problem that i can find with the knife is that the blade does not sit dead center when open,No big deal as all of the others that i looked at were the same.Nice Blond horn handles. Will go in the collection to stay. Just a beautiful piece to look at. Bob B

    13 inch campolin picklock..

I acquired a blond horn version a couple of months ago, and Bill is right...virtually indistinguishable from the 50's models. The blade thickness and backspring are as thick as Mr. Panak's. The only critique I have is the blade grind...wasn't as centered as I would've liked...but being the 'knife butcher' I am, I corrected that, as well as hollow-grinding the flat-grind and reworking the distal taper to the point. After re-acheiving the mirror polish(with a bit of work), and doing some floral engraving on the blade..along with engraving/carving the silver bolsters in a southwestern leaf pattern, and rope-carving the horn...I now have a knife distinctly mine, with an edge rivalling that of an old straight razor. I can just hear you all screaming...heh. Check out Paul's site...I'm not a 'newbie' when it comes to this...

Bernie, aka Blackbeard on BA just brought in a run of 18 inchers from AGA. They are very well made. I just picked up this one from him. You might contact him if you are looking for something from AGA.

i have 11 17/34 inch stilettos, what i found when i had them in 2000 the blades always had a bit of play in them, didnt lock solid so i had to remove the rivet and make my own which done the trick. has anyone had the same problem.
