The problem is all of the US-made models are kind of niche knives. I like the little temp, but I haven't seen as much widespread love of a single Golden knife as I have for a Delica or Calypso. The closest thing to a universally loved Golden knife is the Native, although I don't like the short bevel if it's for testing steel. That and the lock/handle alignment basically stinks on every one I have seen. I don't know why, because the Paramilitary is made in Golden and it's perfect. Anywho, another Native is not my first choice, especially if the price is going to be higher.

I think people SHOULD like the little temperence because the blade shape looks perfect and the handle shape is neat looking. I would sure like that one for BG42, or anything else.

I would want it to be flat ground for sure.

I would not purchase another native inthis steel.

Sal, would you shed more details about what kind of tests you are referring?

I'd buy a bg-42 for sure if it were any of the following models:

    Para-Military
    Little Temp.
    Native
Military with anything but a liner lock...

Of all of these, I'd probably most want to have the little temp. But any would be okay...

The temp does have the advantage of being discontinued....it seems like it would be easier to sell a sprint run of these then of any current model.

    Hi lreed,

We don't have enough for a large quantity of a model and we probably would not use it as a regular steel. So I would want to do a short of of something "fun" like a lil' Temp with an integral Titanium Compression lock.

L Temp is one of my favorite folders. In leaf blade.
Paramil is right up there too.
If this happens I want one (unless it costs more than an arm and a leg )

Fantastic! Just the best choice I would wish.
The integrated compression lock could be even more safe then a usual one, because one keeps in grip a handle, and the compression bar stays 'locked'. No possibility of 'bouncing' which occurs sometimes in liner locks, even axis lock, and maybe (although never have seen a report on this) in usual compression lock.

    Thanks for the response Sal.
    I can't wait for the bg42 L'T!

    Two concerns though:

    1. I remember that Sal once mentioned that the ti-salsa has a weaker lock strength than regular salsa due to material reasons (ti vs steel). Does that mean this Ti L'T may have a weaker lock?

    2. L'T is designed as a legal-everywhere SD folder. A Ti handle seems not as grippy as G10. Is it possible to make the blade switchable with the (future) regular G10 handles?

But anyway, no doubt it will be an absolute beauty! Just tell me when I can call spyderco to place my order please!!!

Sal - if you do a sprint of BG42 Lil'Temps with integral titanium compression locks, I'll come to Colorado and paint your house.

    I'll mow your lawn too.

Maybe we can schedule it around trash day.

When's the last time you had those gutters cleaned?

A sprint run of Lil'Temperances in BG42 would be great! I'd definitely buy more than one.

....After being back from health services after an acute heartattack after reading this.....now they want to put me in a closed institution because I can not wipe the grin from my face.

Ok, this is my horse and I'll back it all the way: BG-42 lil'T with Ti integral compression lock.

Or to put it a different way:
    HERE, OVER HERE!!!

A sprint-run lil't in bg-42 would be very, very interesting. I've been looking to buy a new folder, and that would maybe be it.

I would love a bg42 lil'temperance too! However, I think a lil'temperance with this ti handle will be more like a cute-looking expensive toy instead of a SD knife as it was designed for.
Other than lil'T, I don't remember there's any other quality SD folder with <3 inch premium steel blade and an EXTREMELY good grip, which makes this knife stand out from others.
I really hope Sal and the other guys in spyderco will change their minds about this integral ti lock idea and keep it G10.
