Nice Pilot's Knife. I carried the Camillus version when I was in the Army. Gave it away to a fellow soldier who needed a good knife. I don't regret giving him the knife, but I do wish I had held onto more of the knives I carried while in. Keep meaning to pick up another one.

I don't really collect fixed blades, I only have a few. My son on the other hand, loves them especially when they're military issued. He has a lot of other bayonets on display, but it is too much of a hassle to take apart and photograph right now. So he let me take pictures of some he already had out.

I call this one my Remington Puukko. It has some fatastic heat treated 440A steel. I use to have a SLH Remington drop point but it had a crappy heat treat so it went away, but this one is a cutting bastard and I think I gave $20 for it brand new from Sportman's Guide about 20 years ago!

Here is a good used, really stout and well built, Pilots Air Force Survival knife by Ontario I just picked up.. Got her real cheap and am in the process of cleaning her up a little before I use her as an all-purpose all-around hard task knife for 'in-camp' this fall / winter season..









.. This is the first such Ontario Pilots Air Force knife I have had before. I am hopeful she'll work pretty well for a good general beater around the camp.. Anyone else ever use one of these for similar purposes?

Yes! I have one (dated 2-80) that I use all the time. Since it's a little smaller than my Buck 119 and Ka-Bar, I tend to use it more. It's a perfect size for just about anything I need to do; the bigger ones come out on the longer camping trips, while the Ontario PSK sees general purpose duty. It even makes for a pretty useful heavy-duty-work carry in the city, as long as I slide the bottom of the sheath into my back pocket.

This new Burke blade has a very sweet appearance!. She looks like the best part of a fine Bowie coupled with the magnificence of Kurki.. I love it!. Congrats.

I know I have posted this knife before. It is an I.Wilson rehandled in ebony by grand master knife maker Tony Bose.Recently I sent knives to Larry Parsons fore sheaths & got one made for it,too. I wanted soimething subtle but different. Larry suggested buffalo leather front cover. He is a master craftsman,as well.

What a great frontier knife Vince. Understated yet elegant. The ebony was a great choice, as was the buffalo sheath.
Would look very appropriate at a frontier rendezvous.

Here's a pair of traditionals, a Green river style Buffalo skinner with a stag handle with a fantastic tyne. I made the sheaths with rawhide over veggitan decorated with plains motifs.
