Hello fellow Canucks.
I'm looking at ordering some gear from knifecenter (USA).
They use Fedex Canada to ship to Canada.
I know to avoid UPS but will Fedex Canada charge me a brokering fee on this order?
Any Canadians here have any experience getting things shipped from knifecenter?
bump.
to reiterate-

?
Bump.
Hmmm just realized this is stickied so bumping is irrelevant.lol.
I like stickied threads but the downside is that because they are at the top people sometimes zone them out or ignore them like background noise.
oh well.

In the past, I have been billed for brokerage by Fed-ex. That information is old because it has been a long time since I have used UPS or FED-EX
For my money, anything other than USPS is a deal breaker.
Rob!
Thanks guys.
First post modified with these infos.
Just a note to the folks buying across the border. New Graham has been very good for me. They ship USPS and will tighten folders for you so the centrifugal issue is negated. That said, Warriors and Wonders and True North Knives have comparable pricing to the larger US stores. They ship with a flat rate $11.00 plus $1.50 on any other knife included in the order. The knives ship within 24hrs and are at your door 2-3 days after ordering. No customs and no hassles, shipped Canada Post Priority or something like that.
Lastly Warriors and Wonders is Police, EMS, Military friendly and will held you get your gear at a very competitive price.

10-7
I've had probably 20 knives -- fixed and folders from the US through USPS in the last year or two. Not a one has been opened or checked?!?!?!? You guys must have reeeeaaallllyyy baaaaaadddd luck![]()
I am really sceptical that Canada Customs would actually take the time or energy to open and check knives for easy opening. I imagine they X-ray them and send them on their way unless they're obviously illegal. I also really doubt you would get "blacklisted" for importing anything except something blatantly illegal like a switchblade, a knuckleduster knife or a balisong.
Note: All private carriers charge stupid expensive brokerage fees.
Whereas USPS and Canada Post have a unilateral agreement that allows back and forth without customs on most items.
As does the Royal Mail and Canada Post.

I've had that many knives shipped to me in the last six months without any problem.
But really customs is hit or miss, MOST times they don't mess with the packages but sometimes you "luck" into a dork whos having a bad day and just wanting to mess with someone he thinks is lower on the food chain.
I ordered some boyscout style slipjoints last year they were new in TRANSPARENT blisterpacks but when they made it to me they had been CUT out the packaging and were rattling around in the shipping box!
