Thanks Kerry. BTW, I've heard that called a cloud shield. Great knives, great pics. I'd be very happy to bring that whittler and peachseed desk knife back to Austin with me.

    Vince,
Not nearly. In fact, if you asked my wife she'd tell you it was probably up...well, nevermind.
Yeah, I am a lucky dog. Life is good.
I tried to pass on the good luck tonight while out with some friends. Thought I should try and spread it around some.
Good to hear from you, brother.

First knife I got from Reese. He spent a lot of time on the scales..knowing how I love redbone. Still my favorite Bose..

Great collection of knives there, Randy.

I can't match 'em but that picture of the watch reminded me of my most important possession. This watch was given to me by my grandfather in 1961 a few months before my grandfather died. It was his father's before him, an American Waltham dating to about 1876 or so.

The back of the watch is engraved with a locomotive crossing a railroad trestle with a huge nugget of gold in the foreground and mountains in the background.

(Forgive the quality of the images as I had to use the flash in the kitchen to try and grab a quick shot.)

    Yep, I can relate, Randy.

I have a bunch of my granfather's things around the house. His mandolin in the living room. Some of his hand tools (he was a master machinist) downstairs in the shop and a few little odds and ends he put together.

To this day he remains the person I most closely bonded with and he was the one that gave me my very first pocket knives. I was lucky to have had those few short years with him.

He'd have liked that BackPocket his watch was pictured with.
