    Custom knife makers in Pennsylvania

I'm interested in finding some custom knife makers in Pennsylvania. Preferably eastern Pa. Google didn't turn much up. I'm in the market for my first custom but definately would want to handle it first. Thanks for any info provided.

Thank you for the info. The closest thing to what I'm looking for was the Bud Nealy camp knife. The other makers had some fantastic looking pieces...some so nice I'd be afraid to carry it. It's my sole intention to get a custom FB user to use hard. I should have been more specific as to what I was looking for in my initial post.

i would recommend going to a knife show

you would be able to see a wide range of makers from all over the country

travelling to individual makers shops might be a low yield endeavor

I've looked for those around here as well. We seem to have one "well known" knife and gun show a year. I've not found any other shows within driving distance.

Check out J. Neilson. He does very clean work and is a heck of a nice guy to boot. His wife Tess handles the sheath making and she does top notch work as well.

We have a winner. This is exactly what i was looking for. The B.U.K. he offers is perfectly suited to what I wanted.

    Again....thanks for the info.

Late? Ha...I think not. I've also been looking for custom kitchen cutlery. The maple burl chef knives on your site are just awesome. I was drooling over a couple of hunters as well. I'll be in touch shortly to ask the 30 or 40 questions I have.

The promoter of the Timonium custom knife show is working on a Harrisburg show for makers for next May. I see that you already made a great decision, but LR Harner is close to you near Hanover, and Bud Nealy is in Stroudsburg, pretty close to Lancaster.

Thank you for "bringing sexy back" I've missed it.

LR Harner posted above (butcher_block) and I've emailed him. Super nice looking stuff.

Thanks for the info on the show. I'll keep a eye out for additional info.

Joel C Bolden in Port Matilda makes a beautiful knife and is a pleasure to deal with. I own one of his #1 Utilities in D2:

Mr. Harner there definitely makes some nice stuff. I've got one on the way from him myself.

Raymond Rybar moved to Arizona a few years ago. Still a very nice gentleman though.

Does anyone know of a knifemaker in Saylorsburg? My sister told me that he lives right up the road from her, but I have no idea if he is a big name or what. Any information would be appreciated.

There is a small knife show near you in the Lacaster County area. Last year it was in early August and this year early June. I think it's called "Dutchland Knife Show."

Uh oh, I guess that means I have to get into the shop and finish some knives!

I'd suggest to you that the Chesapeake Knife show in Timonium, MD in December is definitely worth the drive. With any luck it'll be my first show as well
