I used the holes from the transitions on the paracord cross to add a couple more crown sinnets to make a more 3-dimensional fob...

You crowned those in alternate directions, right?

There's just enough room with the green paracord 'Cross of Lorraine' holes to fit the four gutted strands of 550 paracord through each hole. So, I started the round/crown sinnets, using the black cord, pulled the working ends thru and continued with the sinnets, trimmed and melted the ends.

I made the knots tight enough that it's firm to keep it's shape, but not feel bothersome in the pocket.

The angle on the different set of arms can be changed with just a twist of the sinnet, so they don't have to match the ones above them. I hope that makes sense...

Yes, I followed you. But it was not what I was asking. I was asking whether you crowned to the right, then to the left, and then to the right again. It appears to me that you did it that way as the crowning does not helix like it would if it were all right 4 strand crowning.

Ah, yes the crown sinnets can be done clockwise or counterclockwise if you want to make it all symmetric as possible, but by habit, I usually just tie each in one direction.

If I learn to tie a knot and use it consistently I do OK. A year after I quit using it I have to re-learn again. Ok ok, a couple knots I tied 10 times a day for 17 years and I don't even think, my hands just tie the knot. When the SRKW Swamp Warden, skeleton knife came out a few guys wrapped them real nice which made them more comfortable and I wasn't real happy with the harsh metal grip myself since it is not a large knife. Proving that Simple is Best I clamped this one to the workbench and while just playing around I got this done really snug the first time. If I feel lucky I might wrap my Muddy one in Desert Camo one day.

Excellent handle wrap! It seems that many knife handle shapes get unfriendly to paracord wrapping with finger grips and the way some knives fit into their sheaths, but that one worked out perfect.

i bought a roll of 2mm static line to make lanyards for the new leatherman tools we got for work. A simple loop finished with a double fishermans knot now adorns mine. The other guys poo-pooed my lanyard. Its quicker on the draw tho.
    cheers

Thanks, got nothing on you, though But you're right, its very addictive, just ordered some more stuff.

Got one question, where do I get plastic side release buckles and other hardware from? Only been able to find so much of that sort of thing, rather expensive too.

http://www.itwnexus.com/ will send you up to 15 items as product samples, for free, which I hurried up to take advantage of, but would like to be able to buy it wholesale at maybe 10-25 items at a time.

Great ideas on the belt loop key holders! I have to try that. Also, not sure if this was already mentioned but this site has great animated knot tying videos.

The only knot i've done so far is the Chris Reeve Coil knot on my SOG field pup.

I want to get into knot tying more though so I just got some cord and some latches from the ITW Nexus place... Sweet deal catching that.

Stormdrane if you don't have a knife the right size for the "chimp fist" (mini monkey fist) I've got a lady bug it would go perfect with. (I'd be more than willing to reimburse you for your time and materials as well )

Wow, a lot of great knots and links. It’ll keep me busy for a while.

    Here are some I’ve done.

I did this as a Christmas gift for my Father in Law.

This is a combination of a Turks head, sinnet and bell rope knot.

Not a knot but still fun with rope.
