    A little before

    Aaand after

Becker makes a knife that will work till time ends, and make you want to work it into a work of art (gritty sharpened pry bar art); wouldn't have it any other way.

For a neck knife I prefer the Tibo, it's thinner and lighter and that's why I designed it. The BK-11 will always be one of my favorite knives though. I am having Eli make a belt/pouch sheath for one for me. I find that carrying a smaller knife when working with children and their parents, as well as a lot of women, is less distracting and makes it easier for them to intake the information. I adjust my tools as age groups and the classes progress, but prefer the smaller knife for early classes in a lot of cases. I also keep a BK-11 in my lap top bag, even when I have a Tibo around my neck...you know...the whole "two is one and one is none" back up philosophy My wife, with her hands prefers the Tibo as do most of the college girls I have been working with over the last few months. I'm starting to wonder if I have been working with females for too long, and it's having an impact on my designs...

Hey, those tool marks dont look too bad. Any chance you could maybe put up another pic that might highlight them more or make them clearer? I'm considering stripping my BK2, but dont plan to polish it. Just curious about how it would look.

All in all, a very nice knife and strip job.

Here's how mine turned out. I was going to sand it but I think it looks good with the tool marks.

Here's another stripped BK2. Just spent the morning grinding an edge onto mine with a Lansky kit. Should be easy going from here on, though. Sure is nice having a clean sharp knife. The old coating was just getting mangled with all the kindling I was making, now she's looking smooth and has some fresh scales (jacked from the 10) too. Was going to do a patina, but the clean look is just so sweet that I said why bother. Not like it ever rains in SoCal anyway

So I decided to blue the blade of my BK2 and make a few changes to it. Micarta, perhaps some clinching or etching.
After bluing the blade almost black, I'm kinda digging the blacked out blade now. The factory coating I didnt like. But this is actually pretty cool!

Finally I have something good to post! I bought a BK7 a while back and it was stock for the longest time until I felt the urge.

    BK7 Stripped and sanded.

1/4" Bocote handle scales with 5/16" stainless steel tubes.

And the finished product. Handles sanded to a 800 grit finish, a Linseed oil finish with a rustic vinegar patina on the blade.
