Count me in!!
Assuming we can get them (which looks like yes), who definately would take a Khukri at $300.00 or under? Not who would just like one guys, but who will buy for sure.
We are going to see (this is NOT a promise YET) about maybe getting a few in March or April....this is a maybe but definitely a possibility.
To do this will mean a large investment in time and money on the part of ROS Arms USA because of the amount of steel....if we cannot do it right, we just wont do it.
This isn't a pre-sale YET but it is getting closer, it depends on Russian and USA economy how the price will come in. I cannot give anything exact.
Having said all that, who would be in on bringing these quality choppers to the states? We all want one, but who honestly thinks they can/will buy?
We want to please our customers and will get what YOU want, provided we can do it....If I MUST go have tea and dinner and Vodka at the factory, then I guess if you twist my arm hard enough....lol.....
Sound off guys...

Count me in!!
I know you are looking for commitments, and I am not prepared to commit at this time. But, I'm guessing there are others in the same situation as me, and it might help to let you know what is holding me (and possibly others) back.
Before I can make a decision, I would like to have more detailed specs, or at least what I've already seen in other threads confirmed. (15" blade, natural micarta handles, leather sheath? Pics of the complete package would be helpful) I also would like a firmer price, and I would like to know an availability date or approximation.
I have only recently discovered ROSarms, and I am excited about your products. I missed out on the forum discount sale, but that might be just as well because my knife budget is depleted for a little while anyway.
Be Worthy
I will talk with Kancler as soon as I can and get the solid details.
I have to know that the consumer interest is there to even get Russia to listen.
I understand your position as well, I am just trying to help make this happen for folks that have already waited a long time
I will post any new developments as I know them, and people can of course opt out. What I am asking is at this time are you highly likely to buy.
Just look at the Busse khukri thread. lots of people looking to buy a high tech kukri. The Busse will be WAAAY over $300. The last high tech khukri I bought was $1000. If we can get some nice pics and specs, people will be all over it.
If you need help with the pics, I might know someone who knows someone. Of course, he's need an advance copy to work with.![]()
You know I was thinking the same thing? Same guy did a great job on a Cliff knife picture for me awhile back...
I'd be highly likely to buy. I too just discovered the ROSarms forum and am very interested in this khuk. Timing sounds about right as my knife budget "resets" on April 1.![]()
mmm, i want to see pix... pix and more pix. also specs. i have a couple ros-arms knives, and they're lovely. not what you'd expect from other sources.
okay, so here' my plea too. i don't want a khukri-like object. i want a khukri. bussee can probably make a nice modern made milled steel object that chops. super. you know? i want a KHURKI. i don't want a bussee.
bill siegle (on this forum) makes a fantastic khurki like object... i can't put my finger on it, but it's not EXACTLY a khurki, but it's own thing. it CHOPS. OMG. and for about $300 +- $50, it's a *DEAL* as a fantastic custom one off. well, sort of one off, he makes them from time to time. 5160, differential heat treat, *fantastic*. buy one.
my opinion, is that unless certain criteria are met, in general, unless it is FORGED, from nepal, and has certain characteristics, it's not a khurki, but a khurki *like* object. done deal.
so, let's bring on the russian khurki
Bladite
Bought one from Kukuri house and pimped it my self.

All of the steel used is forged, but so highly polished in some cases you cannot tell.
I sold you those knives I believe, Bladite....![]()
Thanks a lot Ted for the heads up on this thread!
I totally understand wanting to carefully judge interest especially in this economy.
When the Canadian dollar was at par with the US and the economy was stronger I could bring in 15 Rosarms and have no worries about selling them all to people who were thrilled to get them. Now with our dollar down and people holding on to their cash a lot tighter it is quite a different story.
However I can definitely commit 100% to one kukuri (or Kukuri like object) and can give a 90% commitment to 2 kukuris and a 40% commitment to 3.
Since I resold quite a few Rosarms I was lucky enough to be able to try out quite a few.
My absolute favourite is the Bayonet. The micarta handle is my favourite part of it because it just feels so good in the hand so I am pretty confident in the kukuri handle as well.
The only thing I don't like about the Bayonet is the name because I always have to explain to people that no it does not attach to anything it is just the name of the knife.
It compares really well to my buddies Chris Reeve Neil Roberts knife. They are both the same size ,quality stainless blades (S30V vs 110) micarta handles with hollow pins, excellent balance and fit and finish(the CR has a bit better fit but the Rosarm has a nicer finish) but I could buy 3 Bayonets for 1 Roberts knife.
I have seen quite a range of sheaths from Rosarms. You can tell they are really trying to get the sheaths improved although some of the early ones were nice just thinner leather than we are used to in the west but others like the pouch for the Beaver I got was horrible. The nicest sheath was on the PIN throwing knife. It was beautiful and seemed to be a different leather altogether. The Kukuri sheaths in the photos look like the ones on the Baby which i rather liked but some people found to thin. I think they will be fine though especially at a 300$ price range.
We have and are improving the sheaths....it takes some doing to convince Russia to change ANYTHING, but eventually they will listen, especially since we are selling way more knives now than ever before.
The early Beaver sheaths were bad, but the improved ones are much better. I know I will do my best and Kancler will do his, to insure you are HAPPY with the products you buy, not just merely "satisfied".
Other than a few notables I was really impressed with all the rosarms products I had go through my hands which was quite a few.
if we're still some time down the road, and i haven't seen pictures yet...
can we do a pass around? that's a good way for people to evaluate such a thing.
oh, and also: rat-tail or full-tang?
Bladite
I'm interested, but can't commit at $300. The closer it is to $220, which is the price I recall being mentioned mid-last year, the more likely I am to buy at least one.
I am quite interested in the specs. One of the things I like about all the ROS Arms knives I've bought is that they're lighter than I'd expect by their appearance. However, in a big chopping blade, at least to some point, weight is a plus. Also, as I understand it, one of the reasons khukris are typically made of carbon steel rather than stainless because stainless tends to be more brittle when hardened to take a good edge. Does the ROS Arms khuk use laminated steel or differentially temper the blade -- how do they handle the impact stresses for a big chopper in stainless?
