There have been a lot of great pics. Some people would never guess there are so many different variations of one knife

I am particularly proud of this one, a 5th version, three line inverted. Not too many around, particularly in this like new condition.

If anyone wants to remedy their lack of a 110, here's a deal. Amazon still has some founders edition 110's with rosewood handle and mirror finish for just $20. plus s&h. These are new-in-box. This is the knife imafritz pictured in the center of his set on post # 59.

No, the 110 was not "traditional" when it first came out, but it has become a traditional, a classic.

(Likely folks were running it too hard at over 60. I think Buck ran theirs around 58, so they did not have that problem, but that strengthening bulge was still a feature on all of their early 440C blades. I have a Pathfinder and a Special, [105 and 119 in today's parlance] as well as a 110. I got them all in the late 60's and they all have that bulge.)
Thanks for that info. Some of the early 110's arecollectors items I believe. How do you tell the early ones? I'm sure the stamps but is there a guide?

Buck 110...I remember many a good deer hunting day with a Buck 110 clipped to my belt. Even better memories of downing deer on beautiful Fall days in the woods and using the 110 to dress out those deer.

I still have a couple of newer models around, and my son now has the one I used to use when hunting.

Thanks Wolfdog, I couldn't resist ordering another at that price.

    Strange coincidence ....

Just a couple of days ago I noticed the clip on the knife I normally have in my pocket while wandering around my property was loose. Couldn't find the right driver for the screws so I decided to grab something else. It occurred to me that I should grab my one and only Buck which has sat in the cupboard pretty much since the day I got it. Normally I would consider it too large and heavy for my purposes but, what the hell, they are working knives, let's give it some work.

    Then I noticed this thread.

    Anyway, here it is:

Nobody needs to faint, but I have two 110s. Besides the one in the King photo, this is my only other 110, just an ole piece of fluff I found on the side of the road. 300

I only have two. The first is a standard model that I bought in 1976 (sorry, no pic). The other is a CS with smooth buffalo horn and S30V:

Yes Buck did make an automatic. I have one. I would carry it if it wasn't illegal to do so. Button on the side of the bolster and the blade swings out with a nice snap.

Buck did not produce an automatic or switchblade 110. All of them you see are aftermarket conversions.

My dad just gave me his 110, circa 1970-72. It's still pretty tight after all these years. The edge has been sharpened many times and is now convexed. I'll probably never carry it for fear of losing it. I used to sneak this one out of the house when I was a kid to go play in the woods. If I get around to posting a pic to my flickr site i'll update this thread.

Thanks for sharing those, Jeff. When I saw the first one I thought I was having a flashback!
