I like this game of Trivia.

Very cool post and knives, Charlie!

Ken, I'm presently not too far away from you. How much are shop tours? ...I'd bring a pie from the Norske Nook and an old Remington.

    Charlie,

That knife would have been made 2 1/2 years ago, Jan of 2010.

    Jake,

Your more than welcome, as is anyone, to stop in. I really cant charge for shop tours as they are very short , If you stop in today I can offer some killer BBQ chicken however! What part of Wi. are you ?

  3. I just so happen to be quite fond of killer BBQ chicken. I'm about 2 1/2 to 3 hours north west but I may take a leisurely drive to Green Bay while I'm in WI... I think you're on the way. I would enjoy meeting you. I'll send you an email or phone to see when you might have time.

A quick wip picture of a lockback sleeveboard whittler. This one is slightly smaller than the Bose/Case version, featuring a spear master , pen and coping secondary blades.

    Ken,

Love to see the working photos, can't tell you how much it adds to the whole experience.

Thanks for the kind words guys.
The knife is pretty much built at this stage, now lots of hours finishing the parts. Very few surfaces on this knife are hidden, requiring lots of hand sanding.

    Jared,

From the looks of the work you have been doing, I have no doubt it will be a nice one when finished!

Thanks for the WIP, Ken. That knife is looking good!
It is interesting that it's a smaller version of Tony's - how long is it?

That whittler is going to be gorgeous. Except for the spearpoint blade it appears similar to the Case/Bose collaboration lockback whittler, from a few years back. I like the spearpoint better myself. I'm curious about the closed length also. I've tried to carry the Case/Bose but at 4" it's a bit longer then I like to carry in my pocket.

This one comes in at 3 7/8 closed length. Actually based on a Fighting Rooster whittler. I will shoot a picture of the two side by side sometime today.

    Roland,

Looks like same knife but yours has a clip, versus the spear blade. The example I have is scaled in horn.

Here is a picture of two frame patterns. The upper is the TonyB/Case pattern , the lower is for this knife. The lower is 1/8 shorter and the large end of the sleeveboard is thinner, while the small end of the sleeveboard is about the same for both patterns.

Here are a few pictures of the inner workings before I start to button things up tomorrow. The picture with the two spring and center spacer show just how close things are fit in these whittlers. Keep in mind the pin dia is only .093 (3/32)
