Kahuana, great collection!
Man, Kahuna, nice collection.
Kahuana, great collection!
Tony,
Thanks my brother. The small wooden handled model between the Koster and the Woodlore is from Sweden made by Johan Staff got it through Nordic Bushcraft a few years ago. The two wooden handled models on the last pic are from England. Top one is from Roger Harrington of Bison Bushcraft made for Woodland Survival Crafts. Lower knife is from Bearclaw Bushcraft.
The bottom knife on the page is made by Poul Strand and is laminated/forged from Denmark. He mostly makes fancy type knives, but at a show he was carving slivers off of the tang of another blade he had. Couldn't resist. All in all very useful and used.
Andy and Big Dan, thanks for the compliment. I'll hopefully add a Fiddleback soon.

Dude, you are so "Adventure Sworn!! Very nice stuff.
These are my current three Scandi's:
TF
Not all Scandi's are scandinavian, but these are:
Top to bottom:
Veikko Hakkarainen Kullervo
Kainuun Puukko T120 Tommi Guard (designed/made by Veijo Käpylä)
Helle Godbit
Reino Kamppila, variant of an Ahti Vaara with a Lauri PT blade, made for Kellam
Lapin Puukko Nylkypuukko
Lapin Puukko Hunter
On the sides:
A Brusletto combo I've had forever.
And these scandi's aren't scandinavian:
Top to bottom:
Blind Horse Knives Pathfinder
Blind Horse Knives Boattail Scandi
Adventure Sworn Bushcrafter
Koster Bushcrafter
Bushcraft Northwest BCNW-O1
It may be evident by the photos, but the Lapin Puukko and the Helle get the most use. The BHK and the Adventure Sworn are becoming favorites fast, though.
I thought that might be his work, but I am not familiar with his mark.
I like that one with Micarta handle.
How does handles size on the BCNW compare to the larger 'Mora' barrel handles?
And how does the Bamboo age?
Yeah, that can be a deal, I do all my image work in a separate program, that came with Linux, it is pretty full featured. If you don't mind the wait, I would crop and size photos for you, from time to time, just takes me a couple minutes. Or, you can get a shareware program and do it yourself, and I could help you, it is not complex.
Good Stuff!
Best,
Marion
It's really quite excellent. Fit and finish is perfect, the steel appears to be, based on amateur testing, well-tempered. The balance is a bit hilt-heavy for me. I have not used it as much as the Lapin Puukko; it seems more suited to carving than game.
If you're really into puukkos, and trying to have the best of the twelve different styles, Käpylä certainly would be at the top of his class for the KP knives.
Blade is from Stephan Brostrom, handle is lace sheoak...
