    first time doing a mod to a knife, removed powdercoating on blade only and forced a patina and added thumb jimping

    Is that a camillus version?
    If so, you should have really bought a Kabar version to do that too.

    Otherwise I like it! Looks great!

    yes its a camillius version, it was beat up allready and I'am never gonna sell it so who cares, lol thanks that landshark thread inspirerd me

    why is the camillus version any kind of special

    okay, i know they went for STUPID money when they were out of production, but at this point, they're affordable enough to buy 4:1 and sock a few a away.

    prices on the cami 2, 3, 7, 9, & 11 ALL dropped like a stone when the KA-BARs came out.

    it's pretty tough to sell something as "rare" and out-of-production, when they're aren't anymore

    Nice!
    It's weird, but I just finished modifying my BK11 today. Also removed coating and put on some jimping. I also put an Olive wood handle on it long time ago.
    Will post pix tomorrow.

    Thats sweet. what did you use to put the jimping on ? I used a dremel to do mine but yours is alot nicer.

    Sorry not everyone has 10 hanging around like you MR President

    It's not that they are worth anymore then the current production, it's that they are rare on the secondary market at least from what I've seen.

    Even an old beat up one can be sanded, polished and made to be a nice collection piece.
    Has nothing to do with the resale value, at least to me.

    My Becker's once bought stay with me forever.
