I grew up in Modesto off of Yosemite and Clause. Spent some time in Long Beach then Seattle. I'm living in Camarillo at the moment.

I see Northern California as anything North of the Grapevine Hill. Now the BAY AREA is completely separate from Nor Cal. It may be IN Nor Cal, but it ain't Nor Cal. It's the North Bay, East Bay, South Bay and San Francisco (or THE city) respectively.

    What's their selection like there?

Chico here. As a seasonal employee (Christmas) for the last two years, I can say that Cutlery Works in the Chico mall carries the following brands: Benchmade, SOG, kershaw, buck, leatherman, victorinox, cold steel, smith and wesson, Gerber, ka-bar, some spyderco, browning, case, wustoff, heinkle, shun, forshcner, global, and several local makers like J. Connely, Bruce, and a few others. Warren is an awesome guy, I have enjoyed working with him and the majority of his staff. I didn't particularly get along with Vince, our local mall ninja. But he knows the steel and materials like no one else, his sales pitches can be a bit over the top, but they are effective. Dave is hella laid back and know his traditional slip joints, I liked working with Dave.

Knife2agunfight: Expect MSPR. During the Christmas season is when Warren runs his sale, between 15%-20% off MSRP. He Does offer 10% for police, fire, EMTs, ACTIVE DUTY and RESERVISTS.

A LOCAL HEADS UP: AFTER 28 YEARS IN THE CUTLERY BUSINESS, WARREN WILL BE CLOSING MID SUMMER, EXPECT JULY. LOOK FOR SOFT SALES AROUND MAY AND "GET THEM OFF THE SHELVES" IN JUNE.

Working at the shop was in awesome! I got paid to play with and talk to people about something that I'm passionate about. it was never "work". I can remember when it was in the NORTH VALLEY PLAZA MALL (for all you "30 something" locals). My brother and I visited the shop as kids, and loved watching the GIANT mechanized SAK open and close, wondering if the scissors would actually cut paper... ah, the walks down memory lane...
