hello,

since an couple years i did admire the filework done by tom stratton of shelbyville kentucky who i was introduced by my knifemaking friend paul granger, http://palehorsefighters.blogspot.com/ and since an couple months we work on get this filework on special +B sak done.

the prototypes where fileworked on the main blade and spring, then shipped to ibach for get factory approved and the blade was ok, but the springs not, so we will do the blades only and this factory approved!

there will be an small laserengraved factory approved mark to separate ouer factory approved work with the modded, way less quality, non warrented "work".

the first sample was an 91mm blade that was later made into the first cyber-yeoman and tom now work on an bunch of 93mm (alox) and 111mm one hand blades. more will follow.

we do start with brand new never assembled factory blades fresh from ibach, then tom stratton do his work on them, different style of filework, i will show the details as soon the first batch is made, then the factory approved laserengraving is done, then depending on the sak model either victorinox or +B assemble the sak with that fileworked blade and then its listed in the newsletter etc.

a filework is basically for make an nice knife look nicer. there are different techniques possible to do filework and many versions in apperance are possible too, from simple lines to more complex "dimpels", "lines", "grooves" etc, the coming pics will make this easy to see. an nice sak will look more classy with it and one of the first batch be made will stay in ibach by the collection or mr elsener, who made it all possible for me, herzlichen dank!

the blades are in - and allready out again on theyr way to switzerland. here some pics, because of the high polishing theyr hard to make good pics! not all have the same filework, there are different types done.

in switzerland they will be assembled as farmer and alox bushcrafter, the alox scales will be different single colors.

Hi Roger,

The file work is very beautiful. It will make already wonderful Vic-SAK's
even more wonderful. Tom is a masterful craftsman. A true artist.
This is a fantastic project of yours. It has been a mutual benefit for
you and Mr Elsner to work together.

Thanks for the pictures and tell that guy in the white t-shirt to lose
some weight!

yes, will tell em, in germany we have loose fitting shirts where ya can read: bier formte diesen wundervollen korper. (beer was modeling this wonderful body)

good news from tom stratton, the first couple 58mm are fileworked too. theyr on the way to me and then i can post pics. wonder how my alox rambler looks now.
