    Merry Christmas everyone.

I know many of us used our knives to open our Christmas presents (I only had to cut a little tape) but how many used them to put their presents together? On Friday night, I was with my 2 younger sisters wrapping presents for our nieces and parents. My sister was complaining that it was a pain the butt to cut the wrapping paper will with scissors. I gave her my CSC Stockman and she was able to use sheepsfoot blade and a ruler to make nice, clean, straight cuts to wrap all the presents. Christmas came and none of our nieces noticed the wrapping at all

That Friday night, my youngest sister commented that she wished she had a cool hobby like pocket knives. I make it a point to show her at least all my newest knives when I get them. She does have her own small collection though, I bought all my family SAK Classics that they carry on their keys (the youngest won't be allowed to carry until she gets out of HS) and I also bought both my sisters peanuts earlier this year. A pink RR for the eldest (she likes pink) and a Remington Abalone peanut for my youngest. I haven't told them yet but I'm saving my CSC Half Moon Trappers in Green and Pink Abalone for them as well.

Some years ago, I bought a bunch of classic's for the family as stocking stuffers for the non knife people/ It was like a gateway drug for some of them. They went on to buy larger sak's or knives on their own, and carry them. Some just stayed with and became classic fans, since it was easy to just have a knife on their keys that they didn't leave home without.

It was interesting the next year when I gave out small single AAA pocket flashlights.

Ah, yes, I forgot about the AAA flashlights. I gave those out too a few years ago. Very useful in everyday life and much better than relying on a cell phone to light up the stairs as you walk down 20 flights in a blackout (referencing the Northeast Blackout of '03).

I cut my wrapping paper, curled my bows, cut up boxes to give inconspicuous shapes to the presents all with a knife.

Nice story Trand. Sometimes, even among non knife people.there happen to be situations or opportunities to put the seed underground...and then hope it grows
I already decided that, next year, I will give away to all my cousins (males and females) a small pocket knife (probably a Classic) and maybe a small keyring flashlight too. After all, I'm the oldest cousin, it's my duty to do such things
I won't be on the forum that much these days (on holiday in South America) but I'll come back soon to hassle you with more questions and topics meanwhile, enjoy your sharpest things on new year's eve, and wish you the best for 2012.

New year and I am still going down slippery slope.

Year 2012 and I am convinced that I need / want:
GEC # 56 Dogleg Jack with clip point ( I have spear point version ) ((Thanks to Johnny Twoshoes who has posted beautiful pictures of that particular GEC model with beautiful patina)
    GEC # 54 Harness Jack
GEC # 53 Cuban Stockman (I have #66 stockman and it needs big brother)

and its just the 5th day... I am doomed... DOOOOMED... but enjoying every moment

Well, I need a new truck. My truck payments will put a hurtin' on knife money, but depending on what the Case/Tony collaboration is, I will get the 2012 collab. If I can just stop finding these Remingtons...

Today was a rough day. I got a call from my dad to go help my grandma up. She's in the hospital and I just found out she has a fractured hip and needs surgery. I'm really worried and stressed out. When things happen to my family I get the most stress. I just wanted to apologize in advance if I'm not my normal happy self.

I come to these forums to get my mind off things and enjoy the folks here. I have met lots of great people in this little section and I seem to spend the most time in here. So hope my stress doesn't come out in a bad way.
