K110 is Bohler's name for AISI D2. I've heard good reports about the cleanliness of this steel.

vg10 is more stain resistant and easier to sharpen, d2 will hold its edge longer. both are very fine steels.

    Thanks sweet hitch-hiker.
I was thinking of getting a German Expedition Knife.
    Puma make one in 440c
Eickhorn have one in k-110, but a lot cheaper.

Are you sure about that? What is the basis for your opinion?

I agree with you that both are fine steels. However, my experience with edge holding rates them about the same with VG10 having a slight advantage.
