Thanks. Wasn't the perfect snowboard conditions but still had fun. About to eat buffet and drive home. Not looking forward to work tomorrow.

What an intense drive home from Tahoe yesterday...

Before the summit, winds were insanely strong. I could feel the vehicle swaying to one side. One of the huge road signs got ripped off its post while I was driving, the road was icy so I couldn't stop or speed up quickly, had to just keep going and pray it didn't hit me. The sign hit the center divider, and spun right over the roof, BARELY missing it.

And at the summit, visibility was literally crap. I couldn't see pass 8 feet in any direction. On top of that, the windshield wipers started to deform from the blocks of ice building up on the wipers and windshield. Had to run outside the car a few times to clear that out by hand.

As scary as it was driving through the storm in a mini van, it was almost one of the most amazing things I've seen. Two weeks ago, I was getting burnt in the sun in Hawaii, and now I was just caught in one of the worst storms to hit Tahoe in a long time. Mother nature is crazy.

    Yeah, it was pretty intense.

In Reno though, I went to the best buffet ever. It's called Sterling's Seafood Steakhouse (located in Silver Legacy casino and resort). During their regular hours of operation, they're a fancy restaurant, but every Sunday during brunch, they have this great $25 buffet. Food and service was excellent!

Everything there was quality, but this was one of my favorite...tender...juicy...perfectly seasoned lamb chops.

    Ugh, thanks. Now I'm salivating

I'm cooking myself some nice fatty ribeyes for Chirstmas. My response to the "last meal" question: nicely seasoned rare / medium rare steak and white rice with shoyu. I need to pick up a cast iron skillet one of these days....

Once, on the way to Tahoe during a dorm ski trip back in college, a car in the oncoming lane slid out and into our lane on a turn. Collided right into the bus. I was in the first set of seats and saw the whole thing (I remember seeming to see it in slow motion). The car was lucky it hit us though; I don't remember exactly where we were, but I'm pretty sure we were on a hillside.

    Hahah whoops.

Yeah I need to get me a nice iron skillet too for steaks. To this day though, the best steak I ever had was in Yosemite on small charcoal grill. Just a little salt and pepper, cooked rare/medium rare. Maybe it was the high altitude or mountain air, but nothing ever tasted so good.

I'm probably going to whip together a pot of chili for Christmas. Nothing says comfort food like chili and corn bread.

Whoa, that car got luck your bus was there to stop it from possibly running off. I used to ride my motorcycle a lot in the hills and see a lot of people coming very close to flying off...

That's the way I like mine

That one was more on the medium side, but still great. Food always tastes better when you're camping anyway....

Beautiful We should do a Tahoe trip sometime. I've only snowboarded twice, but both times, I had a blast.

Great pictures! Can't wait to go back to Tahoe when the sky is clear like that.
