Yep, grounds squirrels beware! Can't really reach out and touch them like my .243 Winchester but this should be good for out 150yds or so.
Pretty slick, squirrels everywhere are scared to go out.

Nice setup Ban...I'm sure it'll be a great time to shoot.
Ground squirrel harassment is good fun, but I learned to let them be after a slightly freaky, slightly funny incident involving a bold suirrel, my dog, and a blow gun <shudder>
So are you guys still thinking to meet at some point this week?
How does Thursday night work for everyone?
damn the rifle is looking good! looking forward to seeing how it shoots.
can't do thursday fellas, company christmas party.
Thursday works for me...fwiw I can also do Wednesday if that vibes with more people.
Upcoming finals might be a potential issue, but I'm trying to not procrastinate. Hoping I can get enough done...back to work now
I'm flexible this week. I might need to bum a ride with you Nate, esp if it turns out to be Thursday.
Speaking of guns, almost here MrPink http://www.slickguns.com/product/kel...pump-shotgun-0
Looks like that get together won't be happening tonight.
What about a hike next sunday, the 18th? Anyone free for that?
Its Ca legal, it has a 18.5" barrel and is 26.1" overall.
Hey Ban, this was the 300 round I was thinking about the other day the 300 AAC Blackout. Only difference from a normal 556 AR would be the barrel, everything else is the same. No new mags needed and lighter then an AR in 308.

Yeah, it's still up in the air for me too. I probably won't know until thursday or friday.
Probably at least half a day. It all depends on people's schedules, which trail, etc. We did the 10-11 mile and about 2000' climbing waterfall loop in Big Basin in 5 or 6 hours, iirc. That was with a little chill-out lunch time by the falls and stopping for pics, etc.
That is a really cool cartridge. I am really digging that idea. It would be a reload proposition in order for it to be cost effective. I like the fact that it is a shortened and necked up 223 case which are readily available. That also means that the bolt would also stay the same. The only thing needed changing is the barrel.
I was looking into something similar in a 6mm configuration (6X45). It basically a standard 223 case that is necked up to 6mm which also means everything except the barrel remains the same. The reason I chose 6mm is because I happen to have about 8K or so bullets needing reloadingI also use those same bullets for my .243 Winchester.
Awesome on so many levels:
