Well, my Mega-Torque spring was delivered, and I said to myself this will be pretty good.
Slap that old bugger in, and be done with it. So after four hours I kinda got it. Horn Dog you
are not alone. The Gerber 06 really suc@$ to reassemble. The spring seems a bit big, and I
played around forever to get stuff to fit. My knife still doesn't really seem to deploy correctly.
It was a real pain in the behind to put it back together.

I reckon after doing it a handful of times, it has just gotten easy for me to assemble the 06. Seriously, if any of you guys would like me to throw the spring in and reassemble your knife the right way, let me know. No charge or anything. I will even clean and oil it, just for the fun of it...

Jfever, would the spring size be the same for the previous gerber/emerson knife?

The knife came with a pocket clip and a sheath. I like the Gerber pretty well so far, but it isn't as sweet as the SERE.

In the image open the Al Mar SERE looks to have a G10 handle, I was looking to purchase a 06 but haven't decided if the G10 is worth not getting a drop point blade. In your opinion you being a person with an 06 with an aluminum handle would the G10 make that much of a difference?
