Since spring is upon us and summer will soon be here let's start a bird thread. Especially since the plumage this time of year is so grand.

Here is a Mandarin duck shot in Walla Walla on the 14th of May this year at Pioneer Park.

I was just browsing the forum and had a pic to post. Hope you enjoy. I caught this on the Kasilof River on June 9th in Alaska. It is a juvenile bald eagle.

There is no going back. If you find that you're comfortable where you were, it's because you never really left.

I haven't posted in here lately but got a decent shot today so I figured I would post. I walked out the door on my way to a family photo shoot and up on my street light is a Coopers Hawk chowing on something. I walk back inside, tell my daughter to come take a look and grab my wildlife lens. He takes off with his grub and I managed to get two quick burst, this being one. It appears he is eating a young turtle dove that has been around the house this week. I dont have much birding time anymore and I'm still waiting for regular visits from my Humming birds so I was pretty excited that the birds came to me!
Say, any of you boys smithies? Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts .....?

Lizard,am thats a cool shot, those Barn swallows are pretty amazing with their nest building skills. Thanks Rich! Here is a shot of a Redtail Hawk I managed to get on the way home from a family photo shoot a week or so ago. The sun was setting and I saw her sitting on a highway overpass so I got off the next exit and backtracked. Got a few of her on the fence and then she took flight,
