Google snap ring plier. Those with smallest tip should fit.

The dollar store miniature Needlenose pliers work as well.They usually have very long thin points that fit those holes like a glove.. Don't tighten it too much though.I use this method on my Bokers that have the same 3 hole bolt as the Enlans.Same factory makes both.

Did someone ask me to make them a video on how to turn a screw? Google "Snap Ring Pliers" available at hardware stores, automotive parts stores.... dollar stores?
Now the tips on mine sat about 5mm apart when closed so I took some pliers and closed them in a little (they were to wide), normally you will squeeze the pliers until the tips line up with 2 of the holes on your bolt, insert and turn clockwise to tighten, it only takes a few inch-pounds. And for the person who came on here to gripe about not being able to buy the tool for this, read the thread title.

Alright, this is just for those of you that are still confused by snap ring pliers. After my last post I went to my shop, took the pivot bolt out of my EL-01, screwed the 2 bolt bits together (outside the knife), clamped them in some vise grips (I am without a vise) and then proceeded to cut a slot through the head of the bolt with a hacksaw.

I went almost all the way through the head, by eye I would say I left 50 thousandths behind, now I can adjust my pivot with a flat head screwdriver or similar.

I would make the assumption that if someone is not clever enough to tighten this simple little bolt, with ready at hand, or homemade tools..Not Smart enough to carry a Knife.I would then recommend a Bread knife for EDC.

A model number would still be appreciated.
I've already bought two tools that don't fit and our tech staff also is likewise at a loss.

You can forgo the vid on how to turn the screw, but if you can do anything to help us get a local hardware store, that would be great!

Enlan
EL01 - satin (lovely lovely knife, pivot has sped up, flipper is awesome, lockdown is secure and this knife is a beast.
EL01B - black finish (not pictured)(this one arrived with a non functioning lock, and with thinner liners than the satin. i dunno why. cant find it now for some reason.)
EL02 - (not pictured, gave to friend. slightly tighter pivot than the EL02b, loosened up good. lovely knife.)
EL02B - amazing axis lock, flips open well. nice stonewashed hollow ground blade, cuts well and knife is ultra solid. G10 is a nice look. wish i had bought a EL04 to test as well, very similar.
EL05 - very strange looking knife, most people laugh when the blade comes out. it gets nicknames like "muncey". cool knife though, cuts well, though im not really sure what it is for.

SRM
710 - amazing little knife. metal scales clip onto pockets much easier than any of the G10 handled knives. flips open quickly, cuts well with a razor hollowground, has seen tough use along side my EL01 most days. kinda wish it wasnt tip down carry only.
710 Black - more of the same, the finish is a little grabbier than the normal 710. gave this to my brother. oddly, the framelock cut out is towards the outside of the scale, not the inside like the normal 710. lockup doesnt feel quite as solid, little more play than the normal 710
763 - cool original design. great blade shape, deploys well(not as fast as the 710), axis lock is superb. not surprisingly, a little more fragile feeling than the larger, full steel linered EL02, but good enough for a smaller knife. the bottle opener is cool as well.
B4730T - a cool little tanto knife. nice looking scales, gave this to a friend. wasnt too impressed with SRM's liner locks, seemed very flimsy, not a heavy duty knife. if you like looking like a ninja for light duty work, this is the knife lol
702 - classy little folder. The lighter Liner lock fits here. cool straight edge, a little tight from factory, but SRM uses allen head screws, an easy fix. very gentlemanly. the single sided thumbstud is designed to be removed easily (allen head) for sharpening, but i didnt like that too much. gifting this one to my uncle.



Overall, i am more impressed with the feel of the Enlan/Bee knives, though SRM makes some slick little folders at a great price. as usual, im gonna recommend the 710 first. but considering its similarity to the Chris Reeves sebenza, its a bit of a lightening rod here. In that case, try the 763. a original design, well executed, very ergonomic. and stupidly sharp from factory.

while some chinese knives are copies, and stuff like the 710 is fairly close (in the exact same way the Kabar in my picture looks the exact same as a Buck 110) i dont think most prople could find fault in Enlan's designs and quality. the EL series is all great, and i expect the Bee L0 series to be the same.



I have a couple Bee knives on the way (the L01MCT, and the entire L04 family set.) some more SRM's (few of the larger wood handled ones 728 and 905, and the super small WA3401. sticking to SRM's axis locks and frame locks for the most part now, unless the linerlock looks particularily buff).
I plan on carefully choosing a Navy knife or two(higher prices, and hit or miss FnF from what i have heard. plus, more blatant copying in design.) and one or two of the nicer Ganzos.


i can give short reviews on all of these and my next batches.

thats one i made myself (along with the two large hunters at the top (the steel blank on is much farther along now). that one was i think an inch thick hexagonal rod that i beat into a general knife shape and then filed in a day(time left over after making a chisel in millwright training same material). very solid chopper, i just annealed it again because i want to give the sabre grind a go over, make it chop better. and then i get to practice heat treating for that large hunter im working on(pics here.

i would like to drill out the handle and blade on this knife a little, but i dont have the gear for it.

Nice! which of the two do you prefer? I have the EL05, but not really sure why exactly. it is cool though.

in terms of thickness the blade is about 6mm thick, and the handle is about 13-14mm thick.

I prefer the M027 because of its compact design and the easier opening by the thumb studs. Anyway both of them are excellent slicers.

Is it just me or are the blades on the 763's all slightly off center. I just got one in g10 and aluminum and they are both off a little.

I have the g10 version and have no problems with them. I like them. I am not seen the aluminium version. Do you happen to have a picture of it?
