I was feeling creative tonight so I just sat down and did this wrap in maybe 10 minutes. I have never wrapped or done anything with paracord so I am pleased with how it turned out. Its not the best looking I have seen but it is functional. Tell me what you think.

The scales on the other Izula are G10 camo from tkc

Any constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated.

Well it is your first wrap,so.....Anyway the color combo is really cool. Google stormdrane's blog. He's got some pretty cool stuff done in para.
There are some other great sites that have tutorials on knots and wraps, but I'm just having a brain fart right now

looks good man, everyone enjoys their first wrap

only constructive criticism I have is to pull it apart, rewrap, pull apart, rewrap, etc.

congrats, I suggest you look into some mariner style knot books, they always have something quite cool IMO and generally pretty handy to end/start a wrap with (IE turks head, double carrick, chinese button knot, monkeys fist, etc)

"It's not the best looking" I agree with you there.

    I wouldn't settle with that.

It has since been unwrapped and I plan on working on it some more throughout the weekend to find something that looks better. I'll update when I get something more desirable.

Tape the blade. It'll save to a trip to emergency room. Don't be afraid to get creative too. It took me a while to find a wrap I like but settled on this one.

Please, don't mind the terrible natural cordage.

Practice until you find a wrap style you like, then rewrap it once or twice. Its surprising how much better you can get after just a few minutes of playing around. The thing I have found is that the way you tie it off once you get to the end is key. Make sure its a sturdy knot but at the same time keep it as unobtrusive as possible. I have found that this usually produces a strong yet comfortable wrap job. When the knots get to big, they just become annoying.

Taping the blade is the best advise yet, and lets not even speak of leaving it in the sheath while you do your wrap, you will be pulling strings taunt and you could pop it out of the sheath and get bleeder.

Dont ask me how I know that

IMHO I like it, just keep re-wrapping if you don't wanna settle, then you can usually come up with some really good stuff. Good looking wrap for your first one though.

I wound up trading one off so now I can just use the scales which feel really great in hand. Still practicing and trying different stuff on a Buck Paklite though. Thanks for the comments!

I think it looks good for a first wrap. I like the way that you brought the cord out of the wrap and right into your lanyard. Bottom line, if it works for you, thats all that matters. Cool Colors too!
