In fact I do remember, and it looks a lot better in person than in the photo! It is named "Dark Stripes", and I got mine from knifeworks.

Btw, after I tie the hangmans/Reeves knot and get the distance where I want it to be, I will coat the knot with superglue. When it dries I hit it with some worn out 2000 grit wet/dry sandpaper, and then polish it with some mothers mag polish to bring out the shine.

Welcome to the forums, viper! I've been meaning to pick up a crown for some time; I love the traditional styling and it looks like a great value. I'm please to hear that you might purchase a new Spyderco, and I definitely recommend it. Once you get one in hand, you realize how comfortable and innovative a lot of their designs can be. Be sure to check out the Delica, Endura, and Tenacious if they've got them. And if you're feeling spendy, you'll never regret picking up a Para-Military 2. Good luck on your purchase, whatever you choose. Don't forget to post back here with a photo!

    Thanks!

For this kind of edc blade photos I use a lightbox and one or two cheap tungsten lamps with the camera on sturdy tripod. I kinda like the look and feel the soft, diffused light gives to photos.

I've heard of putting a drop of glue at the knot to keep it from wanting to unravel, but it never occurred to me to coat the whole thing. That's a neat idea. Thanks again!

The paramilitary 2 is a sweet knife.

    Thanks!
    Talking about silly restrictions:
Usually I EDC this small fixed blade today because fixed blades with a bladelength of less than about 5" are legal to carry and one handed locking folders of whatever size (think Spyderco Dragonfly, I would LOVE that blade) are not.

By the way: FFG and Stonewash on this was done by German master-knifemaker Jürgen Schanz, scales by me. It was a Muela Ibex originally.
I'm in love! How can I get one done like this?

    Heh, thanks

    Well, its easy:
    1. Get a Muela Ibex
    2. Get a Knifemaker of your trust to regrind it to FFG and stonewash it.
    3. Get some Custom Scales done.
    4. Get a Kydex done.

All in all, should be about 100$
    Good luck! ;-)

Glad someone else have it among his EDC... a very underestimated little knife IMO.

Felt a little old school today; Carried my Alox Pioneer SAK with convexed Edge I recently did by hand down to 2000 grit then strop on leather.

I have it and the 556 and I prefer the 555HG. It has so much going for it.

Going with the Kershaw Skyline today. This particular copy isn't my favorite, since I can't seem to find the spot on the pivot that balances blade play and deployment speed. I've got a copy in red that I much prefer, but I don't have access to it right now. At any rate, it's a great, affordable knife--good steel, good ergonomics, and made in the USA (if that matters). Fantastic value.
