Darrel Ralph showed me prototype renderings of a new HTM collab with Greg Lightfoot, the Bullwhip. It will come assisted, non-assisted, or automatic and feature a 154cm blade with a MAXX Glide pivot bearing system. The finish will be Military Type 3 hard anno and the grips look to provide tremendous grip. I call them fish scale grips since I have a pair of g10 wrap grips from Hogue for one of my handguns. Hogue calls them Piranha grip texturing. They look quite similar. These knives will be available in the next few weeks with the automatic version following shortly thereafter.

Will this knife be available before the long awaited 4" HTM gunhammer? Very Cool collab, what's the blade length?

That looks very cool. I've gotta say, it seems like HTM is producing a lot of really nice new models!

Might be around the same time. I'll check. I know DDR's unveiling the 4 inch Gunny at Shot Show in Jan.

Man I want to be first on the order list for the 4 inch Gunny!! I feel like all of my whining, in some small way, was an inspiration to Darrel to make it an HTM offering - discounts welcome!!

The more I look at those pics, the more I want one. Any chance we could get some specs?

Still waiting to get some measurements on this beast.

I can say that it will be released before the 4 inch HTM Gunny though.

The linerlock bar is gonna be .9 to .95 inch thick titanium. Still waiting on actual blade dimensions and overall length. Darrel said he'd check on that for me.

Check out the DDR/HTM forums for contests! You never know what knife you can win.
I thought this was the DDR/HTM forums? Is there another one? Thanks hark!

3.5 inch blade. 8.25 inch overall.

DDR/HTM and this forum is the same. We may change the name of the boards to DDR/HTM because people apparently don't know HTM is part of DDR.

This is always the very first board I check on here, although for some reason (maybe a hidden moderator thread?), it stays highlighted even after I've read all the threads. Not sure I like this one as much as the Gunny. Will there be different blade profiles? That one is a bit too reminiscent of a tanto point for my tastes. I prefer me some sleek, supple curves.

IMHO, spelling out Darrel's name in the title of the board, rather than just the abbreviation DDR, would be the best way to go. The same folks who don't recognize 'HTM' might not recognize 'DDR' either, but everyone who has any business being on a knife forum has heard the name Darrel Ralph. So maybe "Darrel Ralph Designs / HTM Knives" as the new title.

Speaking of which--stupid noobish question--is Darrel's middle initial "D"? Because I'm guessing that the first D stands for Darrel, and the R stands for Ralph, but I wasn't sure what the middle D is for? Or am I totally off base here?

DDR actually stands for 'Dance Dance Revolution'. Darrel is such a big fan of the game that he decided to pay homage by using it as the name of his custom knife brand. Here's a pic from a recent Friday night at the DDR offices:

...either that or you're right and it's his middle initial.

Thank you for that image. I'm just picturing dance dance revolution with knives now. It IS a knife shop, after all...
