Or they are looking for a reason to play with them..... Even know there is a more than adequate tool on the table to use they pull out their folder.......
Oh come on..... REALLY......
Unless they are eating at places that only provide plastic forks and knives and serve the food on paper or plastic plates.
If the knife they give you to cut your steak at a restaurant can't cut the steak, you need a better restaurant, not a sharper knife.
^What they said.
When i've had to use my Old Timer for food it was always due to only plastic-ware being around.
I think some of you guys ought to just order the soup.
Make sure you bring your titanium spork.
There you go, see how easy that was Sir....(As the Wife, GF ect is laughing their butt off)?
Anything else I can do for you, a bib maybe, or a high chair?

A blind date asked me to escort her to a humane society "spay and neuter dinner". the venue was in a rough part of town so I slipped me FFG Endura in my pocket. When a drunk at my table exclaimed that he couldn't cut his eggplant with his plastic knife I passed my spyderco around and everybody was delighted I had brought it- that is until tasting the eggplant.
Happy, healthy and prosperous new year to all.
The idea of carrying your own flatware or dishes is probably one of the most inane things I've seen written on this forum. This is a forum for what? Knives you say? Not the flatware and fine china EDC forum? I carry a knife everyday and I use it for cutting (imagine that). Unfortunately, I don't EDC a set of silverware, a plate, and a bowl. If I did then I would probably use them at a restaurant. You two can feel free to smash and tear your food apart with some ridiculous butter knife, not me. Since this arguing is all for naught as my reasoning won't sway you and nothing anyone says will sway me, I will take my leave of this thread.
I wont usually at a restaurant but at my friends house for dinner it gets whipped out.
BTW ... Who gives a shit if someone uses there folder at a restaurant !

I've used my knife 3-4 times in a restaurant. It has always been my Woodswalker and no one (other than my wife) appeared to notice I was using it.
Sometimes going to another restaurant or returning food to the kitchen isn't possible. The last time the Woodswalker attacked a steak was in Masaya, Nicaragua. I really believe that the only tenderizing the steak got was the jockey whipping it just before it died!
