    Second test: Log hauler

After spending some more time in the puddle

I decided I need to move some logs, and the "jailer" hatchet came with me

After hammering it in, out, around and a few good swings just for good measure we were finally getting somewhere

On the plus side I did move the log from where it was sitting to somewhere else it could sit

and yes that is a nail knic being used to get the knife out the log, (you did say abuse, right?)

    Puddle time

After throwing the knife it he puddle with a satisfying thunk a few itmes I decided on test 3

    Test 3: A tree

Now I used to throw hawks a fair amount for historical reenactment demonstrations, but knives, no, which seemed to work out well because the knife skipped quite well across the gravel, branches and grass as it bounced off the bark of a near by tree.

The Viktim however seemed to get tired of this and found a way to stick itself (no skill involved)

Try as I might I couldn't get the Viktim to tremble

at the end of the testing the damage caused was mostly handle related, the knife stiill cuts well, and does not seem "deformed" from the torque involved in prying up porch boards

All in all he original damage to the hatchet seems a lot worse, and we all ended the day as friends

But as they say friendship is a process, not a destination

    we're working on it

Awesome! Cool pics and abuse ideas, KYe - Looks like the inmate became the jailer at the end!

I'd like to sny that only one knife was harmed in the making of this review, and then not very much. After letting the knife sit over night in it's dirt, again to think about what it had done, I cleaned her up and sanded out some of the dings I'd put in the handle.

I also discovered that being used as a nail and a chisel had taken it's toll on the metal to, there are some burs I don't know I want to get rid off, seems like all it's scars are deserved and honored battle scares to me, sometimes a knife looks it's best after it's been used.

There are a lot of ways to review a knife and I think this has been a novel one, and a lot of fun to watch. I am very grateful to have been able to take part in it.

I'd like to thank everyone including John himself for letting us do this and Mqqn for coming up with it and running this thing. And of course the Viktim herself, shes a fantastic sport and a heck of a tool

Thanks all, unless I see something particularly interesting to stab pretty soon I think I'm ready to move it along, is there another reviewer after me?

    Thanks

Good job proving that dang knife is NO ViKtim! It should be called Timex. Man, it takes whatever we dish out and keeps on taking more. Nice review. Can't wait to see what's on deck for the next round.

This has been an exciting, and fun thread to follow so far!
So what kind of post Abuse testing will this poor Viktim undergo I wonder? Magnflux or X-ray examination to determine any hidden stess areas?
After following this thread I am pretty much sold on getting a blade from JK!

Now that is a tough knife. Anyone throw it off a skyscraper? light it on fire? Steamroll it? Those would be my first 3 ideas.
