I'll most likely have several with hand rubbed blades to. I'm still trying to figure out how I'll get my knives there. I'd take them with me as luggage but I change planes one time.

I'm really glad you're bringing some forge finished blades. They intrigue me, and I can't wait to handle them up close

My guess is a W's damascus core san mai, which was then pressed with a West Texas Wind set of dies and ground clean... So all you see is the Texas wind pattern in the core, fading out into the plain carbon or ss sides.... I'd bet a wooden nickel on that anyway.

Lin- That is some fantastic work!!! Wish I could be there to see it in person!!!!

Really sounds like a fun show!
Since people are guessing... I would guess laddered or texas wind w's with the use of an etch resist on the upper part of the blade. (if you are on a laptop, you can move your screen back and forth and see that there is a slight pattern in the upper part.)

This will be the first knife show I've attended. Really looking forward to seeing everyone's work in person. Love your style Logan.

That is what I was thinking. The spine didn't get etched. Just what my feeble mind thought.

John, I'm sure Eli would like to see that beast. I would to. Hope you made a sheath for it also.

I'm finding myself getting pretty excited about the show. Sure looking forward to doing it!

Here is something that you may be interested in concernig this show. From now till the Arkansas show, some of the local Custom makers and collectors will be featured in several live TV spots as well as recorded programing and even a live 1 hour radio call in program heard statewide. It's all in promotional effort toward the show.

Some actual knives that are finished and available for viewing will be shown on the TV spots. Door passes will be given away to certain callers, etc. A local TV celebrity ("Wildman" Steve Wilson")has taken a great interest in the world of custom knives and will be at our gala/reception Friday evening and with his help, these promotions are possible. His film crew has recorded a lot of footage of forging, grinding, as well as some of the aspects of the JS and MS tests.

If you live in Arkansas, you are likely to see clips of makers you know on news segments, or Saturday morning outdoor sportsman program"(Talkin' Outdoors at the Corner Cafe") . He is seen at times on all three local stations throughout the week so it will be great coverage and promotion of the show.

For those of you who have not been there we have a break room. Makes and clients all use this room, this is where the free cookies, soda pops, fruit, coffee, etc is, makers and collectors that need a break use the room or when they want to sit down and talk about orders or whatever. Its a nice addition to the show. This is a very informal show, relaxed atmosphere however this show can get really crowded with people all trying to get in at the same time and they stay awhile. This is why it is one of my three shows that I do. Sales are good, people are friendly and the relaxed approach.
