Ya, but maybe not Mr.s B.F. if she's a looker. We'd have us a little ''bush'' time.

No interest in shooting one unless I was protecting myself or someone else.

To shoot one I'd nearly have to be hunting for it. Because, I only have one rifle that I'd even consider powerful enough to try to kill one and it's a whole lot more gun than I'd use on anything known to be around here. So, unless bigfoot comes up and looks in my window one night, (it was reported doing just that, once by a lady that lives about 10 miles from me) The creature is probably safe from me and my big Winchester!

Assuming I was hunting and I saw one and could without a shadow of a doubt deem it not a hoax or dumbass teenager in some kind of fur than yes I would. To put to rest that there is or isnt a bigfoot and pray to good its not a damned full body suite. Which is probably why I'd miss my chance as I would spend so much time deliberating on whether its real or not it would be out of sight.

I'd like to add that I am like you JP I have hunted and killed alot, but there is much I have no desire to kill. I have killed bear (one literally in self defense) but have taken no joy in it....only wishing it to have gone a different path. I have no wish to kill elephant or many different animals. I too search out mature animals (does included as I find old crooked nosed does a trophy in there own right) but a chance at bigfoot would scatter my brain. I would probably think it a hoax and not shoot now that I reflect even if it were the real thing, ever thing I have learned as a hunter and trapper tells me things that walk upright should not be shot at because it could be a person. So on reflection I probably couldnt shoot it in good concience.

    Some very good points

To shoot an idiot in a Gorilla suit would be a shame. Even though they might deserve it.

So to blast one with a rifle at a distance would be very risky unless you had time to study it thru a spotting scope and even then with today's special effects it would be hard to discern a fake especially if they where really acting the part.

The only way I can figure it would be a close up situation so you could see every detail and possible see things that an idiot in a suit could not do like deficating or eating . You would need time to study it before you dumped the hammer. All in all a very tough situation.

But alas I think the majority of hunters have the if it's brown it's down attitude and I think that is why many of the hoaxes are not perpetrated during hunting season

I think the poll which is running kinda even with the nod going to the would not side is an indicator that thru out time and as long as there has been sightings if half the people out there would shoot by know old Bigfoot if he where out there would have gotten shot by now.

Remember just like old Squatch roams the back country so did the mountain men and trappers of old. And I can guarantee if old Hatchet Jack would have crossed paths with him he probable would not have gotten a pass

If I was in danger, yes. I dont believe they have a hunting season yet. I bet you could learn some good bushcraft from him/her. I could teach it how to play spades. ok.

Not if I could help it. His friends may take exception to it, and tear my dogs apart.

You know, if you did the deed and weren't out of his habitat by sundown, you wouldn't be coming out. You may be playing, but he isn't.

He's probably gotten pretty aggressive since those guys in the messin' with sasquatch commercials keep f#@ckin with him so I think I'd take him out before he gets me. A .338 lapua straight to the dome I know I should aim for the heart and stuff the head, but I'd rather stuff his feet

...Then again if it was Harry from Harry and the Henderson's we might crack a Heineken first, lol

No but not out of any moral ideals rather fear of the DEP. I did run into a squatch on the AT in NY a few weeks ago and took this video of knocks and a howl. My "proof" of the bigfoot encounter.

Maybe just a coincidence, but I was out camping a few weekends ago and ate a couple old cans of Kipper Snacks, a can of re-fried beans, and washed it down with a tall glass of milk. I was banging my head against a tree trying to drown out the howling from my gut. Before you shoot you need to ask, "Is this a squatch or is this a lactose intolerant backpacker?"

No way, Bigfoot is the man! I would lay down some cover-fire so he could make an escape.
