I just ordered a 711, I would love a busse but the scrapyard seamed like a good place to start. I'm sure I will get a busse sooner or later.

I am looking at the 711 as well and was wondering where the balance poitn/sog is if anyone can provide that info.

Well, I'm a bit late for what I was going to say - I would've told you to get a RatManDu. Once you had it in your hands, you would've sold your other 5" knives and could buy the 711.

Of course, now that you have the 711, you could still sell your 5" knives and get the RMD - you won't be sorry!

If you are, just let me know and I will gladly buy the RMD. I think I'd like black micarta and tanker gray for this one - but you won't want to part with it.

This is why I put the Boss Jack coiled CG into some of the photos. This is the Busse forum first, all others thereafter. Be cautious in the scrapyard forum it's gonna make your WANT increase.

The 711 is a near clone of the Swamp Rat Camp Tramp. One of the best all around knives going. The Camp Tramp has been unavailable for years while prices rose in the exchange. Until the release of the 711. Tough, versatile, chops way above its weight. If you’re going to get a current Scrapyard, get the big on.

I like the larger handle better as well. For a smaller Scrapyard, look for something with a mudder handle.

The 7-11 actually has a better shaped blade toward the point compared to the Camp Tramp and is not as blunt nosed; makes it easier to poke a hole without cutting a big slice.

As far as forums, we post pics of B/C knives at the Yard as well. ALL Bussekin is welcomed there!
