    Beckers and bacon

Last day of the archery deer season here for me so I thought I'd see it off in style.

Used my BK2 to gather some of the lower, dead limbs from one of these oaks...

    Made a cookin' stick...

    Pile o' fuel...

Rebuilt and reused my base from a week or two ago...

Made some shavings and a couple of crappy feather sticks...

Prepped and ready to go - whatever could be in the bag?...

Tried to get an action shot of using the spine of my BK11 to throw a spark into my tinder bundle. I didn't get my attempts synched up with my camera before the spark took...

Oh that's what's in the bag. That picture is full of win...

    Cooking bacon...

    Final touches...

No fresh venison this year. Going to have to focus on fishing this summer instead - that ought to work.

Bacon, Beckers, and Forest: the three main food groups.

    Great pics!

Mmmmm and that's the peppered bacon. The best kind of bacon, well free bacon is better but now I'm running to the bacon store and gettin' me some of that goodness. If you come to the gathering I'll bring some venison, yeah with bacon.

Longbow actually - Howard Hill Halfbreed. Half those arrows are aluminum - for rabbits and stumps and so forth. The rest are carbon.

Beckers and Bacon. Two of my favorite words. Great pics, and a super awesome camp chair you've got there!
