That HK is just awesome. Really goes well with that 4x4 Carlon box.

The only .40 I have is the Smith and Wesson SW99. I actually prefer it to the P99 in terms of my shooting it well and fitting my hand.

It's the one I keep by my nightstand. Along with a few other weapons.

I always wanted to try an SW99. I may have to find a place to rent one. The HK I have is a shooter. It's less than 6 months old since I bought it brand new. It already has close to 2400 rounds down the pipe.

In .40 cal , XD40 is uber reliable, inexpensive, and accurate. Better with aftermarket sights.

When I'm at our Cabin I usually have my Ruger Redhawk .44 Magnum. I like to have something with a little pop.

This one is a no brainer for me. I can load my 19 out with remington 124 golden sabers and imo have the best defensive handgun in the world.

G19 here as well. hope to never use it in defense. i use the old black talons or something similar. most gun fights are only feet apart and i feel comfy enough with today's 9mm self defense cartridges. besides i wont stop shooting until i am dead or he/she is. so its nice to have 16 rounds at your call.

Speaking of things "gun"... DAE check out "Hickock45" on YouTube? The gentleman has a great deal of videos up, mostly him shooting, reviewing, and talking about a wide variety of weapons.
He has a very no-nonsense and practical attitude towards firearms in general, a nice range, a good cameraman, and he's attracted enough attention to get donations of ammo and weapons to review.
Just last night I was watching him engage a steel target with a Glock 23...At 230 yards.
Bullet flight time was over one second by my count... He was hitting the thing with some regularity.

Love the 1911 & hated parting w/ mine- but love the Glock 23. Not much of a trade-off in caliber, but essentially double the magazine capacity & it's lighter & easier to CC.
It goes *bang* every time I pull the trigger & puts holes in the paper where I aim it. A no-brainer for me.

Here's the one I shoot best: Colt CCO, in .45acp of course.

It's a beast of a gun. I had no interest in .40 cal whatsoever until I got a good deal on this gun. After the first trip to the range, I was instantly converted. What a sweet-shooting gun! And super, ridiculously-crazy accurate- it will shoot cloverleaf holes all day long. Somebody apparently forgot to tell this gun that .40s are not supposed to be very accurate. Since it's a Sig, it's 100% reliable. I've never had a single jam of ftf in any of my 5 Sigs. They're like clocks- they just work.
Wow love your SIG 229. My favorite 40 is also my SIG 229 but mine is the Equinox.IMGP4134.jpg

I EDC glock 26 with P+ hollow points. i didn't get 27 just because I feel confident with modern 9mm that cost less to practice and easier to shoot. Glocks are hard to beat for edc, my .40 sig p229 got retired because of it.

My favorite isn't a .40 but it would still get the job done.....the Glock 17(GEN4).

I don't own any .40 cal guns anymore, sold them all off.

I carry a Glock 26 IWB when I'm not working at the gun shop... Sig P226 Combat when I'm working at the shop.

Favorite range gun is S&W 9mm 1911 Pro Series.

    Hi dsltech -

My favorite .40 - my Glock 23 - nice and small, accurate "to the end of the hallway" and never fails.

It's a little heavy on recoil for some (read that my wife), but I find it acceptable.

    Love my G27
I have one clip with the +2 mag extender on it
Without it, my pinky finger hangs off the grip

It's deadly accurate for such a short barrel....imho

I enjoy my Stoeger Cougar - basically an inexpensive Beretta made in Turkey. If you are on a budget, look into it - a nice, reliable, accurate and underpriced gun. Heavy though - all metal.

Mind me asking where you picked up your extension? And does it pinch your pinky as so many complain about?

I couldn't resist and bought the G27....I'll post some pics up tomorrow

    What a fantastic gun....LOVE IT!
