Thanks for continuing to post up your fish pics guys, some real nice ones posted lately. I haven't had the best luck the last few trips (one trip last week involved me having to jump in the lake due to a huge wasps nest, it's ok I went back the next day and took care of them) so I really don't have any good fish pics to contribute. Here's what I have been catching though.

This guy wasn't happy at all about being hooked!!



Then later on the same trip I got this little guy, kind of a cross between a Bream and Bass I guess, I'm not really sure what it is.



Here's a few pics of the wasp story I mentioned earlier, I know you can't really tell anything here but the HUGE nest is right in the very end of this dead Pine that's sticking probably 40 feet out into the middle of the lake.

i don't know the exact models, but the rod and reel are Abu Garcia and he caught it on a chartreuse gulp jerk shad.

Well I've caught more of these guys than I would've liked. I catch them all the time while flipping heavy grass around here. If you are flipping a bait that is small enough for them to to eat, their gonna. It's not so bad every once in a while but they get old after a few of them when your after bass. Especially if your fishing for money then it's just horrible.

First one of these I've caught out of this pond though.

I got out on Lay Lake yesterday for a little bass fishing. Only caught the one but there were more with it the same size I just couldn't get them to bite. The weather and the water are getting rather warm here now, the air temp was low 90's and the water was anywhere from 88-90 degrees depending on where I was on the lake. I caught this little guy on a 1 ounce scroungerhead with a Zoom magnum super fluke in smokey shad color. They were feeding on the schools of shad so I just had to get my lure to run right through them and it bit. Couldn't duplicate the catch , didn't keep me from trying though.

Gear used was an Abu Garcia 6601 on a Cabelas Pro Guide rod with McCoy Mean Green line 25# test.

nice fish bud. i hope to get some fishing in this weekend. did some camping in the NC mtns this past weekend. caught some trout and some small mouths and of course i was too excited and busy to take pics.. i hate it when i do that

I've never caught a trout or a smallie but I sure wouldn't mind trying them out. There are a few small mouth's in a lake in the upper part of Alabama but I've never been there to fish.

Well I've really been struggling to catch anything worth taking pics of. This usually happens to me in the heat of summer though because I don't enjoy fishing deep. Therefore I usually beat my head against the wall and try to get something going shallow with bad results. Either I zero altogether or the fish are small. Don't get me wrong I know what to do I just don't like doing it. I really like to fish a deep diving crank but the problem here is so does everyone else so the fish see them a lot. Also I really like a shakey head so I don't mind using these but the problem here is that 90% of the deep spots that I knowe are on the main lake so that means tons of pleasure boat traffic making fishing with a light 3/16 or 1/4 oz shakeyhead worm very difficult.

Anyway I was able to trick these two at a pond close to home. They still aren't anything really worth showing off but my thread has really been dead lately so here goes...

This one was, as you can see, caught on a Spro frog in the Natural Red color


This one came on an Owner 1/8 oz shakeyhead with a NetBait finesse worm in watermelon red flake color

Fish don't have to be monsters to be fun to catch and look at. Most of mine are smallish too, but I don't mind. Nice fish. Thanks for posting them.

agreed. thanks for resurrecting the thread war eagle. i gotta get back out there. caught a couple big-mouths in the weeds of lake champlain a couple weekends ago with my brother. he caught a decent-ish one....prob 3+ lbs. i told him to keep it in the water while i tried to run over with the camera (flat water wading). but unfortunately, it shook it before i could get there. caught on a 1/4 oz shad colored spinner.

i was psyched for him. i had wanted him to come up for a while as he's been having a tough time with life right now. it really is amazing how a day of fishing can pick a guy up.

I got a few from the other fishing post to show off! More to come...hopefully. The one during the day was caught on a synthetic minnow (fire tiger colored) and the one at night was caught on my favorite: a Fred Arbogast Popper (large black).

Here is one a friend caught around Pensacola, a baby blacktip shark. He was using light spinning with 8# test line.

I usually just take my kayak out on the inlets and lakes here in Virginia Beach. I use a 5' Ugly Stick with 4 lb test line. It's a thrill to have even the little guys put up a good fight! My lures are almost exclusively skirted spinners. Fast-action casting from a kayak lets me explore every nook and cranny on the water.

I have the same 5" Ugly Stick! Great rod for smaller bass & trout. That looks like a great 'yak for the ponds down there too. Thanks for sharing brother!
