yes i do. i own a SOG Twitch 2. the Twitch 1, 2, and XL are all spring assisted lockbacks.
BEWARE!! these knives are notorious for blade play, although they stay pretty strong as far as cutting goes
So ya, I recently watched a review of a SOG Blink and noticed that the reviewer was opening the knife by depressing the lockbar which engaged the spring assist, opening the knife. Which [I]almost[I] makes it an auto -in a kind of, cheating way...
I just thought this was sort of cool if you lived in a state/province where autos are illegal. Unfortunately the Blink is a butt-ugly knife and I wouldn't be caught dead carrying it.
So anybody know of any other spring assisted lockbacks? Despite my searching I wasn't really able to find anything in the big 3. Which is too bad. I would love it if this existed in the form of a BENCHMADE....

Ya, I've noticed that ALL of my SOG knives seem to develop some blade play after a while. Haven't quite figured out how to effectively remedy it. It seems to be just an inherent SOG problem.
Frenchmade, are you dead set on the knife being a lockback? Have you considered assisted knives with other types of locks?
Yeah, why choose a lockback A/O? The two features kind of clash with each other; there's a reason why no one else has made a knife like this. For assisted opening, I think you'd be much happier with a Kershaw flipper; those things open quickly and easily. Kershaw's A/O design is also less prone to opening in your pocket, so even if you get one with a safety, you won't need it.
The lockback design really does not lend itself well to being on an assisted opener. That would be my guess as to why you don't see them for sale anywhere and no one really filling up threads on forums asking for it.
Would the detent of the lock bar cause the AO to not work properly?

I think I may have one of the few Twitches (Twitch XL) that hasn't developed any blade play at all, LOL. I've had it over a year, too.
Exactly. Which is why I was surprised to see that SOG had even made one!
I don't really believe that lockback/spring-assist is a "winning" combination but I did find it interesting.
If I have a spring assist I want it to be either a liner lock or an Axis lock (surprise, surprise)
Its just sort of odd. And I couldn't think of any other knives that had these mechanisms.
