Same here. I want the new coatings with laser etchings. This is a very very cool thing for KaBar to do. But, I'll pass. Same reason I didn't order all of the FPR shorts. I really dig the new look. I don't mind waiting a little longer for them.

I wasn't going to say anything, but I agree with you. That, and the normal Machax will likely street price for roughly this as well.

Its way cool of KaBar to do this for us, I'm just not interested in the machax (blaspheme I know).

But heres to hoping that you guys buy tons of them, so that Kabar will do a LE or discount on the tweeners

Got mine ordered on the second try. Couldn't help but notice the phone(s) ringing in the background; wouldn't want to be working there right now. Thought about waiting also, but who am I kidding. I had to fight off the little demon on my shoulder when she ever so politely asked, "How many do you want to order?" Managed to hold off for just one, gotta keep some money for when the 16 and 17 are released.

don't forget kids, this one has no lazer etching on it, and no "first production run LE signature stuff", so stripper friendly

and the price is hard to beat as well, that's Tomar's price in a week or two, but with shipping

get it now, limited quantity, i think they started with 200

and sold 60 already?

Laser etch goes away with stripping since its cut out.of the coating withba laser. There may be some remaining etched in but after the necessary sanding it may be gone. The room stamped ones are there and deep so after stripping they remain.

What makes this bk4 different than the one that will be officially released?

Im guessing price and early access?

Being that this is one of the lightest real deal choppers around, I am very tempted.

street price is the same for now, so basically free shipping; weeks early access (April 1st is the aim date, but some dealers may get some a touch early)

if you want a stamped one, and you want it now, well...

if you don't care, and want to wait, well...

the coatings may vary a little too - not sure
