Much as I like mango patinas and this thread, it really belongs in Ka-Bar, despite the BK-9 pic.

Hmmm. Wow the price is nice on these. I'm thinking this war sword would be a nice "budget bk9". Light weight too at just a pound.

Could you take the handle bump out with a file or is a grinder required?

I guess u could with a file...but it will take forever. Guyon, you are right, this belongs on the ka-bar forum...but then again, BK&T's ARE Ka-Bars, right? lol I might post this over there too.

I just cut the black slabs today

doesn't look too shabby, but I like the green scales better. I've got too many black handled knives, and the green ones set this one apart as the zombie killer!

and let's not forget lil Acheron... this knife has helped me a lot in finer tasks like adjusting the mouth of kydex sheaths, digging up a starting point for the drill bit so it doesn't walk, trace patterns in tape, etc. Great addition to the sword! So far the sheath holds the Acheron in it's own pocket, while the big pouch has an altoid that needs to be filled up (just an allen for the screws, a 3' length of paracord and a bit of sandpaper for now), a cheap sak that hasn't turned out to be bad after all, the black slabs cut to fit and the kydex/paracord/ball chain affair I did for the acheron for neck carry.

Well you inspired me to get one of these. I think I'll etch the logo as well. But I may blue the blade or even do the blue/bleach etch. We'll see. But thanks for the thread!

Hi, I just joined because of this thread, but I love knives and I hope to stick around. What you did is awesome, can you please explain how you etched it? Did you need to scratch off the logo? You got it to look so clean. Great job!

If money was a big factor would you recommend it as a survival/woods knife.? I know it can't perform as good as a Becker BK9, but would you trust your life to this knife.
