Good deal from new CA member?

Hello to all. New member here from CA. Have a few knives in my small collection and tend to collect more firearms. Got these two the other day from a local pawn shop/ffl for $100 out the door for the pair (Western Bowie & KaBar). Did I get a good deal on these? Also had questions about them. Tried to do web search on info but wanted to see if new info available. Does anyone know when this Western Bowie was exactly made some say early in manufacture others say about the third generation. Also what type of steel was used? Thanks.

I believe the Western was made in the 70s. The Ka-Bar sometime later. How well you did would depend on how happy you are. I think it is a fair price.

Hard to tell from the pictures, it looks like the Western has some pitting or heavy stains. $100 is a bit high for me.

It looks like there is no sheath for the Western bowie? The sheath on the Ka-bar is not original, and the finish on the Ka-Bar is not good.

I think you could have done better with your $100. However if you plan on using them, then time will prove that $100 well spent I think.

Blade markded Western's (BOWIE) are earlier thus more money... The Kabar is $35 or so.
