anyone ever heard of the Woody Knuckles? they have dozens of designs from the full set of brass knuckles, to something this simple.
you have to practically wait in line for one, and when they do a run, they sell out in an instant. i waited for months for this little thing...
and no, im not stupid enough to go packing it around, i bought it as a conversation piece. afterall, my name IS Woody

I'd carry it around. It is a bottle opener after all.

Until you use it. Then try explaining that it's just a bottle opener to a judge. It's definitely cool though.

Edit: Wait, just thought of a lame joke. Use it to open bottles at your next social gathering. You'll be the hit of the party...huh?...huh? Wahaha

I'd more than likely hit someone with a chair before I dug out my keys and set up the knuckle duster.

how would it be any different than trying to explain to a judge why you stabbed a guy or shot him if your life was being threatened?
not trying to stir a hornets nest, and i dont plan on carrying or using it, i have a CCW permit and pack a pistol daily.

Just because knuckles of any kind are normally illegal. It would be like stabbing a guy with a switchblade, it may be justified but the weapon used is now a problem.

yeah, it's not that you hurt/killed an attacker, it's the weapon used. Knucks are pretty much universally illegal outside of the world of curio. If you have a CCW, you can carry a .50 Deagle if you want to, technically. But if you use that thing, it's illegal. After use of a knuck, trying to say it's just a bottle opener would be like trying to convince a jury that a howitzer is just a dream catcher.

how thick is that thing? I have some bronze and may try to make one, just for grins and giggles. Can you take a pic of it next to a ruler?

If no one knew about them it might be ok, but after a little research by the prosecutor I think they'd quickly discover the item's true use. Pretty clever idea to disguise it as a bottle opener, though.

It's like how online retailers sell brass knuckles but label them as paper weights. We all know what the real intended use is. The same can be said of double edge push daggers being labeled as letter openers.

In my post I was not referring to you carrying it, I was just adding my thoughts to the conversation for the readers of this thread. I know you are not going to carry it, I just wanna try to make sure that nobody else gets in trouble for doing so.
As far as the knucks as paperweights and push daggers as letter openers, I think that some people will enjoy a set of brass knuckles holding their papers on their desk in an office, especially if they are a biker. It's decor, in other words a curio.
I prefer a double edged blade for letter openers because I don't really take care of my letter openers. They don't get sharpened much, so if one edge is dull, all I have to do is flip the knife and have a sharp edge. I think that push daggers are overkill for desk knives, but double edged "daggers" are excellent knives for that use.
    All just my opinion.
